Well they have just gotten started, but yeah don't you guys miss the old HBO nights of 10+ years ago? Those were the days...classics.

I agree with you that DAZN overpaid their boxers and it's not looking good for them. They thought they could get all the american boxers if they throw a little bit of money around, but that was not the case. Now the few stars they do have, can't afford to lose, like you said. It would make their expensive investments worthless and that prevents risky and great fights from happening. And that is bad for the sport. Hopefully all networks work on these things, because they are all equal right now imo. Nothing has changed.

I’m glad I’m grandfathered in! I wouldn’t get it at 19$, but $9.99 is cool. Hell..at least you aren’t tied into some sort of long term contract

yeah back in the day id build my weekend around the big fights, theres nothing these days id set aside my saturday for. bunch of crap, people acting like its a bargain when they are showing fights which would be free on other channels.

They’re not expensive. PBC’s 600 million investment was supposedly “expensive.” Like all startup companies risk is part of the investment. Some companies are luckier than others when there’s extra overhead capital with no loss of worry.

You’ve got multimillionaire gamblers all throughout the world playing big hands, losing and winning. That’s the same as a multi billionaire philanthropist who’s willing to spend if he/she has had proven success.

This is obvious. This whole played out idea of “overpaid” is no different than Doritos bidding high for Superbowl spots. A mutli fight deal is worth it on the long stretch because...

Basic graph charts and progression are used in all risk management...

They haven't aired a single meaningful fight yet. With that said, Canelo-Jacobs and Sor Rungvisai-Estrada II are great fights.

They’ve just become a new name in the familiar network/promoter battle...nothing different. The problem for dazn, is they need to sign lots of high profile fighters to multi fight deals to drive subs.

instead its the same old ****ing ****, they are no better than showtime in fact id argue they are worse.
i dont care if they are new, they are still charging people money and have hiked up the prices. With the crap theyve shown so far they should be lowering them.
theyve overpaid there stars so much that its disastrous if they lose, they cant afford to risk them losing. dont tell me canelos at risk of losing to jacobs either cause thats never going to happen officially.
in fact i will be interested to see what happens scorecard wise if any of their big investments ever have a close fight that goes the distance. Although with the calibre of fighter most of them are lining up against thats probably going to be a rarity.
theyve shot themselves in the foot paying canelo a ridiculous amount of money and now every world level fighter wants a big slice of the pie.
and dont tell me the schedule is good because i wouldnt pay a penny for almost every fight, the fact that they are charging less than other companies do for ppv doesnt excuse the fact that its still too much.
lets give dazn a round of applause for putting on one ppv worthy fight (canelo/jacobs) wow these guys are really tearing it up right now. and even that fights hardly a superfight.
They actually lowered the price. What are u talking about

I was excited too but it's been nothing but mismatch after mismatch. Estrada vs King sor and Canelo vs Jacobs will be the first meanigful fights on DAZN since its conception. That is sad.

Canelo not only has to carry GoldenBoy but he has to carry DAZN too.
