im dying to watch these two great welterweights fight, but i doubt it happens anytime soon, in this era we rarely see the top guys fight each other in their primes. it makes me sad.

I've noticed recently that many people are fans of managers and promoters and the money involved often arguing at length about money they have zero connection to. This usually stems from the human behavior of tribalism. I don't count myself among them. We have Crawford who wants to make the best fight at welter that's all that matter. If Spence dont fight porter next then he ducking I dont care about the reasons.

I totally agree with you, i dont want to hear money or location as an excuse. Both Team should want this fight next. split shouldn't be an issue, they both have 1 belt each, both aren't mega stars or selling major PPV. The timing is right if Bud gets past Khan.

It's irrelevant what the fighters want if the networks aren't willing to split the share.

But HBO, who were usually the roadlock between HBO/Showtime collaboration is gone, and we have yet to see how ESPN will react when Showtime approaches them about a joint ppv.

That still remains to be seen.

Personally I don't think either of the guys are ducking.

I think Crawford wants the fight now while it is still a 50/50 monetary and split wise. He knows that if Spence fights Pac, Thurman, and Porter, he will be the overwhelming A-side, even more than Mayweather was to Pac.

He wants the fight now while everything is relatively even on the negotiation table.

Spence is in no hurry because his goal is to be undisputed and there is no point in crossing the street while there are belts still to collect on his side.

It does however seem like he has given up on Thurman ever manning up so I believe he will also push hard for the Crawford fight after he beats Porter.

There is context in everything. Crawford has no choice but to pursue Spence otherwise he will be stuck fighting bums for the foreseable future, Spence on the other side is not under any pressure, he has options, and they are all world champions and easier to make fights.

I think the last thing he wants is to be stuck in negotiations for nine months or whatever, or even for years like Pac/Mayweather were.

The fight will definitely happen though. I reckon if Spence fights Porter next, then definitely by 2020 Spence is fighting Crawford.

If Spence doesn't fight Porter next and refuses to go to the negotiation table with Crawford then you know what he is about now Ray.

Guess im the odd fan out. Maybe 5 years ago i called crawford the new floyd and thought spence would be his manny. Until this fight is without a doubt, a fight for the best fighter in boxing i dont want it. Let it be for all the 147 marbles. The only terrible part in this wait is crawford has no one to test his mettle against... and yall writing khan off too easily. Hes a bigger Gamboa and gamboa troubled the hxll out of TC, plus khans “new” hand makes me nervous with his punching power.

Spence holds one title in one weightclass, his best wins are

Brook (came from a huge stoppage loss and broken face to GGG and had to drain himself down to 147)

Mikey Garcia (a lightweight who didnt even come to win)

Crawford is a top 2 P4P fighter and a multi divisional champion, he was undisputed at 140 and beat a couple good guys at 147.

Jeez, some of you actually know **** about boxing.
Exactly brook and Mikey are better than anyone on Crawford’s resume. Notice how you couldn’t even name a noteworthy fighter that would compare to those two? I know everything about boxing and becoming undisputed by beating indongo doesn’t compare to going over seas and beating brook. Now sit down and keep your mouth shut while the men talk boy!!

UNDISPUTED UNIFIED CHAMP AT 140! He fought whoever was at the top of the division at that time something that Danny Garcia never did. The point is no one has done that at 140 in years. After he unifies the welterweight division, Then You will understand player.

Were any of those people better than Broner or Lipinets? That was the question that you failed to answer! Your response tells me that you know the answer is no! What you're saying is that winning the belts are more important than who you beat for the belt! I disagree! I know Bud is talented! I also know he hasn't been challenged as much as the great ones! He should've fought Pacquiao!
