turned people off to canelo ? an entire arena celebrating with him after beating ggg... canelo at this point has more fans than ever, just look at his fight at MSG where was never considered a mexican venue... haters always going to hate and you know it well, but canelo hasnt lost one bit off his fanbase, on the contrary never been more popular...
now even mexican media that used to give canelo ****t, they all praise him to a very high standard...

perhaps you should read the back and forth between me and the other poster if you want to insert yourself into the conversation. He was stating reasons why people dislike Canelo which he included reasons such as good looks and money. I was explaining that more fans dislike him for reasons such as favorable treatment /scoring, ped use, and his avoidance of ggg during the period he was fighting khan, Smith and Chavez Jr instead. I didn't question Canelos popularity or the size of his fan base. Of course he has a fan base. How else would anyone explain a garbage fight that everyone should've known would suck such like Canelo VS Chavez Jr generating 1 million buys.

Canelo won the fight against Cotto clearly, and against Trout too, with Lara and GGG were much more competitive but no way in hell those fights were robberies

nobody has had 5 fights with more ridiculous scorecards that what Canelo has had vs trout, mayweather, Lara, Cotto and ggg 1. Bad scorecards happen often in boxing but it hasn't happened for anyone more than it has happened for Canelo. Coincidence?

It's fine to say that Lara and G1 were close. That's true. "fair" is the real question. I don't think Lara was a "fair" result. A draw would have been "fair" there.

I honestly feel that Lara deserved the win as did G in the first fight.

To the original point about scoring, look at every fight Canelo's had. There's been at least one completely off scorecard. EVERY time.

Those theories don't matter. Go to any boxing gym and ask trainers of Canelo's style and technique. If these theories were true, no ATG, HOFs or guys like Ward would even mention to favor Canelo in fights! You never thought of that right? That's what propaganda does.

Him and Marquez certainly have some animus towards Canelo. I think it boils down to Marquez having to work so hard his whole career and getting overlooked until he finally beat Pacquiao and then got the credit he always deserved. Whereas they probably feel Canelo was given things too early and didn't have to work for them.

Marquez fought Pac in Pacquiao's prime. Mosley and Cotto were way past their prime when Canelo got to them. Mayweather was a one sided loss but people praise Canelo's resume. Whether anyone agrees or disagrees with the scoring of the Pac fights they were very competitive . Marquez was never given the credit he deserved.
