It’s clear they both needed and wanted to secure guaranteed revenue with that move. There is just no way anyone can spend spend spend that much money, literally hundreds of millions of dollars, just to spend. They have made been making any money and that’s what these Canelo and Joshua fights are about. That’s why hearn has bluntly said the wilder fight has to take place in the USA.Comment

Who knows how much DAZN has been spending! It’s clear they both needed and wanted to secure guaranteed revenue with that move. They have obviously invested well over a billion in boxing,
but how much are they also spending on their NFL, MLB,
and the other major licenses they have!?!
I think we all knew DAZN was bound to raise their price,
but doubling the price was hard to swallow.
They cannot really go much higher than $20 per month.
People go nuts when Netflix raises their price by only a
couple dollars, so this was a very brazen price increase by
DAZN. ..haha..DAZN is brazen. Has a nice ring to it.
Anyway, is such a massive price increase maybe a sign
that DAZN is already struggling mightily? Failing, even?Comment

Misleading because they increased price if you are NOT already a subscriber and only want to purchase for 1 month to watch 1 fight like Canelo coming up then cancel right after. But if you already a subscriber you are still locked in no commitment $9.99 a month and they just lowered their yearly rate to 8 bucks a month. If you a boxing fan it's actually now cheaper. Only ones complaining arr people who were refusing to subscribe to DAZN in the first place.
Basically $99 for 1 year almost the same price as 1 PPV. Or you just subscribe for $19.99 to watch whatever big fight they have coming up like PPV but at 1/4 the PPV cost. Sounds like a great deal for me. Showtime costs more and has less boxing (look at their schedule for 2019 they barely had any fights) and if they do have a big fight it will be on PPV. ESPN+ forces you to pay cable for some of their fights that are on ESPN and not ESPN+ and then forces you to pay PPV on top of that. You spending far more money to watch fights on Showtime and ESPN+ by the end of the year then $99 one price and all boxing on DAZN is included like Canelo level PPVs.Comment

Unknown? lol Lopez is a former world champ and in about the last half decade has only lost to Ken shiro most have shiro as the best fighter in the entire division number 1 ranked champ in ESPN rankings. Lopez is also in most people's top 10 if not just outside the top 10. Boxrec has him #5 in the division actually ahead of Acosta. This is a good fight. if Acosta wins needs to get a unification fight.Comment

I was referring to Gvozdyk's opponent....the guy with 8 losses. I was in the wrong context.Unknown? lol Lopez is a former world champ and in about the last half decade has only lost to Ken shiro most have shiro as the best fighter in the entire division number 1 ranked champ in ESPN rankings. Although I live in Canada, where the price has always been $20, I have the American version and pay the original $10
American price. It's still not a good look that DAZN has to
DOUBLE their monthly US price after less than a year of
being in service. If Netflix did that there would be mass
public outrage. If your ISP doubled their fee you would
cancel immediately. A 100% increase in price is drastic and
alarming, no matter how you try to spin it.Comment
