Comments Thread For: Anthony Fowler Vows To Destroy Scott Fitzgerald in Five

Anthony Fowler has promised to prove he is a level above Scott Fitzgerald by taking him out in five rounds when the bitter rivals clash for the WBA International Super-Welterweight title at The M&S Bank Arena Liverpool on Saturday, live on Sky Sports in the UK and DAZN in the US. Preston's Fitzgerald will be aiming to avenge an amateur defeat at the hands of 'The Machine' but the 9-0 Liverpudlian, now trained by Dave Coldwell in Rotherham, is determined to finish their rivalry off in style to set-up another huge domestic showdown with British Champion Ted Cheeseman in the summer.

Don’t know what it is about fowler I like because he comes across as the quintessential scouse bell end but I find it hilarious.

      Can't argue with that. Haha.

Fowler should beat Fitzgerald but don't see him getting much past Euro level, he's strong but very robotic and stiff.

Fowler called himself world class after his first fight. He also hits people when already down. I think his second fight could got dq.

Fowler should beat this guy easily

We all saw how cheeseman did at Euro level but I think fowler is on a different level to ted. I’m not willing to call him a future world champ or anything just yet but I’m interested to see how he progresses

What fights at 140 can a super welterweight get?

I think Fowler looks decent. Might get exposed outside of British level but I reckon the winner of this fight has a great chance vs Cheeseman

I reckon Fowler will win and possibly by stoppage, but it will go late. Fitzgerald seems like he has a decent chin and heart from I've seen.
If he fights Cheeseman next, that'll probably be easier for Fowler. Cheeseman's a better boxer overall than Fitzgerald, but he tends to get over-macho and uses his own face as a shield.
