Comments Thread For: Julian Williams Remains Patient Ahead Of Hurd Title Fight

From the moment he turned pro in 2010, Julian "J-Rock" Williams hasn't been given any choice but to remain patient. It was required on his way up to his first career title fight-as well as in the aftermath of said opportunity, when he suffered a stunning fifth round knockout at the hands of then-unbeaten titlist Jermall Charlo.

I said, before the fight, I thought Charlo was making a mistake fighting Harrison! I think Hurd choosing J-Rock was a mistake too! Philly Stand Up! Salute to Tevin Farmer! Free Boots Ennis! ASAP!

They all go for the favorite fighter. Especially our black instagram boxing fans. Our instagram fans only knew the charlo twins and the promotion along with the commentators are to blame. Lennox Lewis should be ashamed because he and Harrison came out the same gym. But I knew Harrison was going to get zero chance. Same thing with this fight...J Rock will have the more accurate punches and boxing style that looks more athletic to the judges. I like hurd but he looks to be the instagram fighter between the two.

This fight is where Hurd gets exposed for his caveman style. We have seen his flaws early but nobody has been able to take full advantage.

            Williams got this..

I was probably the most vocal about Charlo and Harrison being a super underrated competitive fight.

I agree with you here as well that JRock is live. Not sure I'm picking him just yet, but he's a sharpshooter who has good enough pop to gain Hurd's respect. What it will come down to is how strong JRock is mentally in the later rounds and if he could clinch on the inside and not let Hurd get his shots off.

The talk is Charlo vs Hurd unification bout later this year, but really we could be seeing JRock vs Harrison and that's perfectly fine.

I think you beat Hurd by going to the body early on. He's too big for the weight and I think a body attack could make him susceptible to a late round KO.

                    JRock seems like good people.
This just seems like a big ask as prepared as i know he is going to be.
Hurd and that SIZE is really a nightmare for anyone.
Its going to take a younger type version of Lara to manage a decision over Hurd.
Not sure JRock has that level of disciplined sleekness in the face of intense pressure over 12 rounds.
I just hope he proves me wrong.
