Again, I like Lopez, but who has he beaten to make everyone think he can beat Loma? I think a lot of his popularity comes from his personality and fortnite dances lol. He's exciting, yes, but again you're going to look good against when you're being matched up properly on your way up. But that's all I see right now. Just saying.
Lopez Laughs: Loma Is Not Doing Well!

Ha ha. Well that's the kicker isn't it? I think two fights sounds like a good plan, cos good as he's looked Teofimo still hasn't fought anyone worth a damn. It says something when Tatli can actually be considered a step up... the ideal would probably be a couple more years seasoning for Lopez but he's a growing boy and Lomachenko ain't getting younger either so any time before the end of 2020 or so would be ideal...
Thing is I also have my doubts that that is Bob 'today I'm telling the truth' Arums intent. If I'm Bob I'm thinking 'why have one star when I can have two'... More money in milking Loma for another 3, 4 years and building Teofimo at 140 and 147 (where he'll probably ultimately end up) to take over as the next star of his stable - if he lives up to his apparent potential. Shame if it falls like that... like you say Teofimo needs to keep Loma's name on his lips, step up the level and keep knocking dudes out. Turn this into a fight it ain't just the hardcore talking about.Comment

Do you think Loma has another 3 to 4 years without wear and tear catching up? I'd think 2 years max.Ha ha. Well that's the kicker isn't it? I'd like to see a Lopez fight at the end of the year. Hopefully he can get a Pedraza or Beltran in the summer as a step up fight and then see if he takes a fight in November or December. Good opportunity for him because Loma will be WBA/WBO/IBF/Ring champion by then and still considered the consensus p4p#1 in the world.
I just think the people demanding the fight will be the first ones to write it off or criticize it once it goes the way they don't want it to. Lopez is still an unproven prospect but the fight could be a great learning experience for him.
Commey is the contractually obligated next fight after the Crolla mandatory and then hopefully Lopez and by this time next year the consensus #1 at 130, Berchelt will be ready and we can have a big fight there.Comment

I think he'll still be very profitable for Bob for at least that long, whether he takes an L or not, which is kinda the point in this context. I think his style will not age well, especially if he continues at 135 where he's already undersized. What remains to be seen is if he's good enough to adapt his style to something a bit less reliant on reflexes and rapid movement. Absolutely though I'd say he's maybe already slipping a little and beyond two years expect a significant decline... rare for a guy in the lower classes to last into his mid 30s even with a more conducive style.Comment

That's essentially the point of my thread. That he doesn't have all that time to waste on inferior challenges.
