I'm trying to understand why bruvas bring up Canelo saying ''I'm not going to fight any more Mexicans'' is the same thing as to say ''What if Spence said I'm not going to fight anymore black fighters...he would be crucified?''

The correct way to compare would be ''What if Spence said he would no longer fight American fighters?''

So the fact that Canelo is in the top echolon of the sport itself, he knows his fellow Mexicans are so far and few in between at those weights, he would rather co exist than hinder each others growth.

It be different if Canelo were to be at say featherweight, where Mexican talent is always in display.
