El Brooklyn probably wants to be on DAZN since the South American takeover of countries including Honduras will be pimped by my uncle Skipper

A couple weeks ago they also signed Neymar and Cristiano Ronaldo 2 of the biggest stars in the world.

And this morning DAZN just inked a massive deal in Canada winning the rights for Premeir League. By the way this sale of Perform was reported in the works back in Oct.

Anyone tuning in on a Saturday morning to TSN and Rogers Sportsnet come August expecting to see a Premier League are going to be disappointed. The broadcast rights to the next three seasons of the Premier League are the latest to be scooped up by streaming service DAZN Canada.

DAZN Win Exclusive Canadian Rights To The Premier League For The Next Three Seasons

          It is official.

Starting in August 2019, and for three seasons, DAZN will make available all 380 Premier League matches live to Canadians on one streaming platform.

The Premier League is broadcast in 189 countries around the world and the League estimates that it is available to a potential billion viewers.

Over the last number of seasons, the Premier League rights in Canada have been held jointly by TSN and Rogers Sportsnet with a fixture of live, delayed and streamed action on cable and through the internet.

NBC and Telemundo hold the respective language rights in the USA to the end of the 2021/22 season.

The Premier League announcement is the latest in a number of impressive acquisitions made by DAZN since it launched in Canada in the summer of 2017.

First, there was NFL but other sports followed in rapid succession. Soccer programming was made a priority and the UEFA Champions League, the Europa League, Serie A, La Liga, Ligue 1, MLS and the English Championship are all currently available on DAZN Canada.

There is also a myriad of other sports available including Tennis, Cricket, Rugby Union, Darts, Gymnastics, MMA, Boxing, Hockey (Russian League), Cycling, Snooker, Basketball, and action from the MLB Network.

The addition of the Premier League will give Canadian fans access to some of the world’s best clubs, and cements DAZN’s position as the home of European soccer in Canada. Joseph Markowski, DAZN EVP, North America

DAZN Canada programming is only available in Canada. The cost is $20 per month after a one month trial or $150 for an annual subscription. DAZN can be streamed through connected devices such as smart TVs, smartphones, tablets, games consoles, and PCs.

          Global DAZN

DAZN was launched in 2016 with service being offered in Germany, Austria, Switzerland, and Japan. Canada, USA, and Italy have since been added to the stable. The offerings and pricing in each country vary depending on held rights.

DAZN is owned by the Perform Group with former ESPN president John Skipper executive chairman. Perform Group, in turn, is owned by Len Blavatnik’s US-based privately-held multi-national industrial group, Access Industries. Forbes places Blavatnik’s wealth at $18B.

My Forbes colleague, Steve McCaskill wrote about a restructuring of DAZN and Perform last month and in October Steve published an article that suggested that a partial sale of the Perform Group (non-DAZN) was being explored. Vista Equity Partners has been reported as possible buyers.

The more countries they go into the less cost in theory any deal is. For example hbo or showtime or espn would always have been looking st American audience.

Canelo for instance did 600k in America and 600k elsewhere across DAZN ; so they effectively doubled their audience for this route! It’s going to become harder and harder as they grow to compete with them!
