Comments Thread For: Schaefer: Spence is a PPV Fighter, Maybe They'll Face Him Now

Arlington, Texas - Mikey Garcia (39-1, 30 KO') came up short in his quest to dethrone IBF welterweight champion Errol Spence. People wondered why Mikey would take the fight outside of a massive payday but Garcia insisted he saw something.

No doubt, he instantly becomes the biggest money fight for the PBC WWs minus Manny...But really with Manny's guarantees, you probably can make the same against Spence. But to make him a TRUE PPV star, then they need to give him Manny next, and not Thurman.

I bet a ton of people who bought the PPV were Mexican Americans rooting for Mikey not Spence. Let's see how many PPV buys Spence does against Porter or Thurman before calling him a true PPV star.

That's exactly what happened! That's why Spence's target for 2020 should be Canelo @ 160! No one can give him a bigger payday in the sport, and that will break the record @ AT&T...easy! Those fans want revenge (and they'll pay to see it), even though it was the Mexican who called out Spence Jr., and not the other way around!

He's getting Manny next. That's seems clear after watching Inside PBC last night on FS1. I think it's just an issue of how much Manny gets for that fight.

A big part of being a PPV star is the match making.

As the previous poster said, get him in w Manny, and maybe another hot name of the sport and if he is victorious and impressive in those wins then I think for sure he can carry a PPV. Not to mention Crawford is still out there in the wings for a major major show if they can make that fight.

You're right. I'm MEXICAN and I paid for the Mikey-Spence fight cause I wanted Mikey to win.
I like both fighters but I always go for the MEXICAN!
But I'm also a boxing fan and I Know a good fight when I see one...
If Spence was to fight Crawford or Thurman on ppv I'll also pay for it cause I think those would be great, intriguing fights.
But if Spence fights pacquiao or Porter then I don't think I'll pay a ppv fee for those since I think Spence easily dominates both and might even knock out pacquiao..
