Everyone predicted Spence to win unless they were diehard Mikey fans. That way they could talk about how impressive the win was because any win by a WW 147 pounder (whose stated his career will end at 160 or 168) against a LW 135 whose career began at 126...will NEVER look good on paper. And that's because it was a horrible fight.
To those saying Spence "outboxed" Mikey...you have no idea what happened. Spence worked behind a jab the entire night long utilizing his reach, height, and larger frame to keep the significantly smaller fighter at bay. That's not "outboxing" someone. That's being 2 weight classes bigger than someone.
Errald did what he was supposed to do. I've said for Y E A R S that WW is a 2 horse race...Errald and Terrence. Even when Keith was active he was always a hypejob, as is Porter and Danny. They are good paper champs, but they're extremely limited and ordinary in almost every area. They benefited from Oscar, Shane, Cotto, Floyd, and Manny making WW a glamour division. But it hasn't been glamorous since about 2013 or 2014. Nonetheless these guys have seemed better than what they are because:
It was always clear to me that all three of those fighters were C to C+ with Keith maybe skirting B- on his best day, but none of them wouldve competed with Floyd, Manny, Shane, Cotto, Margs, DLH, etc.
Yet Terrence and Errald both demonstrate traits which suggest they couldve been.
So anyone praising or predicting Mikey before the fight (besides War Mikey) was just low-key Errald nuthugging. It was always a simple win for Spencer and the only convulsion thay can be made is Errald doesnt have the power - not at the elite level - to change fights. He appeared to do most other things very well, but its not hard to do that when you consistently fight overmatched opponents...like Thurman, Porter, and Danny have done...their entire careers

- they're all of about equal skill
- they've made careers of fighting 1-2/year and scraping by journeymen (Ugas, Judah, Herrera, Lamont Peterson, Lopez, Ghost, Broner, Collazo, Alexander, etc.).
