Comments Thread For: Garcia Would 'Love' Lomachenko; Not Sure About 135 Return

I don't think the one loss is the issue for Mikey. It's the way he lost. He took a lot of heavy shots to the body and head throughout the fight. I'm sure that kind of prolonged took some years off his career.
That's why it was so baffling why they didn't just stop the fight. Did his corner expect him to score a late KO to end the fight?
No one should expect him to now go and do all that it takes
to drain his body down to 135 for fight that he will need to be in optimal shape to win. I don't blame him for not wanting to put his body through all that especially since he just had such a hard fight.
The hate is already bad from these Mikey haters, can u imagine if Mikey let his brother stop it ?
Cause I’m already hearing dumb sh.t like:
“He only did it for the money”
“He’s an embarrassment”
“He’s always been a bum”
“He was exposed by Spence”
Had his corner stopped it, the hate would be unmitigated.Comment

It was really bad. He just bit off more than he could chew. I still see him as an very good fighter who still beats anyone at 140 or 135.
Loma was popping off loudly that he wanted the Mikey fight (after Garcia had already committed to Spence of course ).
Let’s see if we hear a peep out of this guy now ?
Probably will be to busy begging Tank to move up, while simultaneously snubbing Lopez in avoidance, lol
I see Mikey timing him and putting him to sleep.Last edited by BoxingIsGreat; 03-19-2019, 12:32 PM.Comment

Precisely ! Loma wouldn’t hurt Mikey with anything he has, and if u can’t get Mikey’s respect it’s curtains for u.Comment

The best version of Mikey puts the best version of Lomachencko to sleep. Lomachencko reminds me of the Rams offense. There’s a lot of fluff, window dressing, and moving parts. But once you get past all that, they only run a few plays. Lomachencko is the same way. He does a lot of flashy stuff with his movements and footwork. And all that covers up the fact that he makes a lot of technical errors and puts himself into bad positions. Not to mention he’s old and there’s an expiration date on that frenetic, high energy style he fights with.Comment

"You're only as good as your last fight" got pushed to the extreme around 2008 for sure.Comment

Lomachenko is a very good fighter, and I’ve always given him the props he’s deserved. But ive never saw him winning a Mikey fight.
My main issue with him has been that he’s languished too long in a weight divisions with little to no real talent in it.
Then when Mikey is available at 135 he avoids his career defining fight. His career path is mimicking ggg’s lazy path of avoidance.
If he keeps up this lousy game of possum, someone’s gonna move up and embarrass his comfortable azz, just like Canelo did ggg.Last edited by SugarRaRobinson; 03-19-2019, 01:36 PM.Comment
