Algieri: Potentially. You can't put anything past Manny Pacquiao. He is one of those guys. You can't ever count him out. He's got intangibles that our fighters our generation have barely ever see. So, you can't ever count that man out.

Was Manny faster than Errol?


Algieri: Yeah uuh I mean yeah but they're different. They're very different. Errol's speed is related to his technique. Very sharp puncher, technically very sound. Manny is pretty much the opposite. His technique is not super sharp, but he's so fast and talented. So, there's alot of ways to generate speed.

How would you relate the power between the two guys?

Algieri: I would say Manny is probably a little more shocking with his punching.

Algieri: He hurt you with punches that are surprising. Errol is like a thudding. He hits hard. He's a strong guy. He's a physically strong guy. He throws alot of punches. Errol is not a one punch guy. He's a break you down, hit you with alot of punches kind of guy. Whereas Manny can shock you with a single shot.

So basically Pacquio has power but his technique is sloppy. You forgot to add that to your headline. His defense and punches are too sloppy to beat Spence.

Why are people surprised? This is true and something I've been saying for a while with Spence. He's not that destructive type of hitter that will stop you with one shot. It's just his offense is so consistent round by round that he eventually breaks you down and stops you from the accumulation of punishment. Thurman is another guy who has more single shot power than Spence.
