Stop saying Spence was holding back

He was throwing a career high over a thousand punches and landed four hundred. And had every intention to ko him and already we have seen this before in brook khan and rigo but right now with this showing i consider spence a level or two lower than ggg canelo and loma for not stopping a dude that he should have stopped.

Spence didn't hold back and I think he is pfp number one or at least on the same level as Canelo and GGG in a three way tie. You can't KO everybody and Mikey is clearly an iron jawed boxer. You don't need a kO to beat the best fighters. Spence threw 1045 fast hard punches and landed 345 punches on an undefeated champion. Who else fighting today has ever done that. A very amazing performance.

Really bolio? Number 1 for beating a lightweight who most people expected him to destroy and ko anyways? I wont lie I expected mikey to be a lil more competitive but I said mikey will lose easy. Mikey was way shorter and way shorter reach and Spence did what he had to do but this victory doesnt make him number 1. I wanna see him fight a top dude at his weight class and if he does that and easily beat porter or Thurman (I expect him to win both even though if we get pre Danny Garcia Thurman I think he has a chance vs spence) then ok but till then hes a top ten p4p but not the number 1. Maybe the eye test to u tells u he has the skills for it but not his resume. Lots of people were calling this fight a mismatch from the moment it was signed.

Spence really tried to stop him, but he wanted to prove a point how he can box with skill and defense at elite level, it was a thorough beat down Mikey will know he was in a fight, all through the lead up Spence was being taunted how Mikey is the better technician, Spence wanted to prove a point and if the KO came he would take it, he just never had Mikey that far hurt to stop bashing him with skilled boxing and go all out for the KO.

What Im seeing is people lowering Spence at the expense of Mikey, and the problem is these people dont realize how well rounded both of them are, Spence is very hard to beat when he boxes like that, a big rangy Sth Paw with a laser lance for a jab, a 1000 punches thrown and great body attack, boy oh boy people need to open there eyes and understand this craft , top guys nullify each other and it can mask the skill thats actually on display, Spence is extremely hard guy to beat over 12 rounds with his rock solid toolkit.

Errol has a pit bull mentality he will come all night, and now he showed his skills , he is real .

Because of this. He did what he wanted with Garcia who isn't even fit to be his sparring partner. "The boxing IQ **** is boring." If he had wanted he could have easily walked down the manlet from the onset. Was more concerned about proving something to Ray Leonard and George Foreman than any opposition Garcia could have provided.

Spence had many opportunities to get Garcia out of there and just chose not not. Every time it looked like Garcia was about to fold Spence would pull back and laugh at him, then start all over again.

It was like a cat toying with a mouse ala Mayweather vs Marquez.

I've seen Spence literally running after a hurt opponent when he wants to take his head off but he didn't do it in this fight.

I think it was clear Errol was trying to make a statement about his boxing ability first.

Makes sense, given all through the buildup, we are hearing how Mikey is the "skill guy" in the equation.

There is also this...all pre-fight we are hearing that Mikey sparred Valero and Maidana and Pacquiao and how therefore Spence's power is nothing he is overly concerned about.

Yet, we get to the fight and it's clear pretty early on that Mikey is fighting to avoid getting KTFO, not fighting to actually win the fight.

Clearly, he felt Errol's power early and became concerned.

And so, a 4 division champ of Mikey's considerable talent definitely proved able to cover up enough to miss taking too many flush shots.

                  Not surprising.

I predicted a KO in 8 rounds or so...but that prediction was contingent on Mikey actually trying to win.

                  Go figure.

I don't blame Mikey tho, I am still a fan of his and he gets major props from me for hanging in when his corner wanted to stop it.

Mikey is a tough man, with plenty of heart and can punch back. No shame in Spence not stopping Mikey. It was still a very decisive and virtually completely one sided victory.
