He underrated Spence's ability i think. Mikey thought he was the much superior boxer, which he wasn't and isn't.

I've always said if you're jumping up in weights like that, you need at least 1 attribute in your game that can give a bigger fighter a real problem, but Mikey doesn't have that. He's good and well rounded but very orthodox and he doesn't excel in one area that could be a problem for a bigger man.

He couldn't even fight as the smaller fighter because he isn't quick or anything/

Well, this guy feels that Mikey was robbed:

I had Mikey winning by 2 rounds. Spence has no power and Mikey just laughed at his shots. Mikey is the peoples champion tonight, he exposed Spence.

As far as gameplan it was obvious. They prepared for Spence to come bullrushing in to take him out. Mikey was fighting counterstance all night. But when they saw Spence pumping the jab at full range, Mikey started to get frustrated (that's when Robert told him to get inside). Problem is Mikey has NEVER had an opponent beat him in the way we saw Spence do. Every other one has either stood there or given him opportunities to give in. Spence KEPT throwing the jab and Mikey had no answer.

This fight just told me that fighting Manny is pointless because if there's one thing Manny can't stand, it's a rangy fighter that actually uses the jab and boxes at range. I expect Roach to duck that fight.
