Comments Thread For: Arreola: I Don't Want To Go Out The Way I Did Against Wilder

Prior to his ring return last December, the last time Chris Arreola stepped into the ring was in July '16 when he was stopped in the 8th round of a Fox-televised heavyweight title fight versus defending champ Deontay Wilder. Arreola definitely took this fight seriously. He hasn’t been 239 since he was 18 years old lol.

Why pay Arreola to get in the ring when everybody is leaving the arena and the staff are putting away chairs?

I can't imagine that you're getting back anything on your investment at that point.

Putting on fights after the main event is one of the ******er things PBC does.

If he ever captures a legit heavyweight strap against a real champ, he should get in the HOF just on that alone, considering 3 terribly failed attempts and everyone’s written him off long ago.

Would be a complete shocker if he ever did. Would probably be the boxing story of the year.

It's insurance for the televised card in case all the bouts end early. Golden Boy didn't have any reserve bouts on the Canelo-GGG 2 card, and HBO paid the price for it with Lampley and Kellerman desperately trying to fill over an hour before the main event. If there was a walkout fight, it would have been moved up to kill time before the main event was slated to begin

Arreola time is up. He had his time. He's just a glorified gate keeper status at the moment collecting easy paydays. he's done.

Against whom may I ask? At 38 he is even older than both Deontay Wilder and Anthony Joshua. He only displays balls inside of the ring. However, outside of it, he lacked both the balls, discipline, commitment, dedication, will and skill to be great.
