Comments Thread For: Eleider Alvarez Return on June 28, Oscar Rivas Back on Fury Bill

Former WBO light heavyweight champion Eleider Alvarez will return to the ring on June 28 at the Videotron Center in Canada, according to The Montreal Journal. The fight would be the first for Alvarez, since losing a twelve round unanimous decision and his world title in a rematch Sergey Kovalev in February in Texas. Before the second Alvarez-Kovalev fight, promoter Yvon Michel and Alvarez's manager, Stphane Lpine, had agreed that the next fight of their pugilist would take place on June 15 in Quebec City.

Alvarez vs Jesse Hart is coming down the pipe right? That's a good fight. I'm guessing Fury will get a bum that can be KO'd, then Rivas after that

Glad to hear it. Boxers shouldnt let one loss destroy their careers. Alvarez showed well vs Kovalev overall, his stock went up. Also consistently showed well before Kovalev vs B+ guys. I'd like to see Alvarez fight the absolute best guys out there without a real belt, whether Browne, Johnson, Jack, Smith Jr, any of those four I guess.

As for the comeback opponent, I'd like it to be Alvarez vs Valera, that would be my choice. But after that, one of the names I mentioned. If Alvarez can beat Browne, Johnson, Jack, or Smith Jr, then he's back in the mix for Gvozdyk, Bivol, and Beterbiev.

What kind of sense does this make? You got Gvozdyk fighting in Philly, but not vs Hart? But Alvarez is going to fight Hart? Unless that's ALSO in Philly, very strange move by TR.

Rivas too risky for Fury lol

Gotta wonder what kind of opponent they dig up for him.

How about Michael "the bounty" Hunter? He last fought in November and he is in the top 20.
