  • Comments Thread For: Erik Morales: If Garcia Beats Spence - He Could Be P4P #1

Hall of Famer and four-time world champion, Erik 'Terrible' Morales is well aware of the heavy risk involved for Mikey Garcia on Saturday night. Morales remembers when he took a very dangerous risk by facing Marcos Maidana in 2011, and almost everyone expected him to get demolished within the first half of the fight.

If Mikey wins, he will be p4p. Not many boxers do what Mikey is doing, daring to be great. It will be very tough but may the best man win.

If you're going to dare to be great, this is how you do it. He didn't select a lowly regarded paper champion that nobody every heard of, he moved up to fight without a doubt the #1 or #2 fighter in that division.

No doubt! If Mikey beats Errol Spence Jr. for his 4th division title, and beating the #1 WW in the world, he's P4P#1! Anybody who says otherwise is just a hater, and should totally disregarded!

... you may say that -- but a "hype" that was badly avoided by all "champs" at 147...

                Actually 5th division (126, 130, 135, 140, and now 147).

Let's hope that Mikey Garica daring to be great by moving up in weight and fighting the best sets an example for others to follow. This idea of "champions" avoiding each other and sitting around until they have been given every possible advantage before they fight is for "losers" even though they might be undefeated. Mikey is a winner no matter the outcome because he took the toughest possible challenge.
