Comments Thread For: Warren: Dubois Did More of Job on Conjanu Than Luis Ortiz Did

Daniel Dubois executed a spectacular finish against Razvan Cojanu and I think he made a bit of a statement in there with his second round stoppage. He probably did more of a job on him than Luis Ortiz and that can't be bad for a kid who had only had nine fights beforehand. Watching his ruthless approach to his boxing, you would not believe what a nice kid Daniel is and the truth of the matter is he just loves doing what he does. He is one who was born and bred to box, no doubt about that.

People still rate Ortiz as big dangerous killa above everyone at HW except Wilder and Fury even though he's looking mediocre against the likes of Kaufman and Hammer and prospects are wiping out mutual opponents just as easy?

Dubois is young and strong, I'd expect him to look better against weak opposition that Ortiz. When the opposition offers real resistance, then who is better? That is the question that has not been answered.

I agree. Comparisons like this are pointless really. The only thing that matters is who would win if ortiz and Dubois fought tomorrow. I think we know.

Frank's talking out of his ass again if he seriously thinks this result puts Dubois on the level of Ortiz or any other top 10 HW just yet; he still has a year or 2 of learning fights to get through at least, but the potential is definitely there.
The one thing this fight does does prove is that Dubois has the ability to learn. Johnson spoiled his way to a UD loss, and young Daniel avoided the same thing happening again with Cojanu who's also known for spoiling his way to the final bell.

Put Dubois in with Ortiz then.

everyone uses Ortiz's name, but nobody makes a fight.

                  I don't follow what you're saying.

Dubois vs Ortiz. Why is that a problem? young buck against an old man. I'd watch it. Unless you guys prefer to see him and Gorman battle on who can beat up unranked binmen fastest. Looks like Fabio Maldonado is up next.

Did well, but looked a little lapse defensively. Cojanu could have caught him more than a few times with big shots.

Warren just doing his job though tbf
