If he can offer his fighters and the talent isn't monopolized and/or it gets rid of the different divisions in boxing they should work with him. The more under one umbrella the better IMO. I never liked the UFC's model of one organization ruling all but seeing how complex it is having too many well funded platforms in boxing is even worse.
What I will say is that the last 7-8 years and probably the next couple have probably been the weakest in terms of talent and caliber of matches in the history of the gloved era of the sport and he's been a big player. If he's as big as his fanatics point out then he's probably the main reason. If you disagree, ask yourself "Is Boxing better today in terms of the quality of matches than it's ever been in your life?" and if you've been watching for more than 10 years your answer is obviously no. Hearn is "just a U.K promoter" so whilst he's maybe not great for that scene he's not a huge player here yet. Maybe he'll be bad too?
He's excellent for his clients and clearly good at business but he's not very good for the sport or the fans IMO. There are promoter fanboys though that love him and think he invented the sport but IMO that's going too far. I pay money to watch boxing and I don't get a % of the fighters' purses so I'm more interested as a fan than the business done for an individual fighter. I think most fans think this way.
