Comments Thread For: Spence: I'll Punish Garcia, Make Him Wish He Took Brother's Advice

IBF welterweight world champion Errol Spence sent a very firm warning in the direction of Mikey Garcia on Wednesday. Spence and Garcia, a four-division champion Mikey Garcia went face-to-face earlier today at the final press conference. On Saturday, they will collide in the ring, in the main event of a Fox Sports Pay-Per-View from AT&T Stadium in Arlington, Texas.

    Errol v Mikey

I feel that Errol Spence will win, but I admire Mikey’s courage.

I like Mikey a great deal, but he didn’t look that overwhelming to me against either Robert Easter or Sergey Lipinets. I think he’s a very technical and smart boxer and I enjoy watching him fight a great deal, but I just think he doesn’t have enough speed and strength to beat Spence IF Spence is firing on all cylinders. If his bodybuilding has given him enough strength to keep pushing Errol backwards, onto his back foot whenever he attempts to get in close, maybe he can pick away at him and even things out somewhat. However, I feel this may end up looking like when Guillermo Rigondeaux moved up two weight classes to fight Vasya Lomachenko. Speaking of Lomachenko, I really think he would have been a better fight for Mikey. I would have that fight an even 50-50.
I give Mikey less of a percent likelihood to win against Errol, probably about 35%, no more.
    Thoughts?

Spence has spoke nothing but the truth, and so he shall punish Garcia for daring to come up in weigh and challenge the main man.

She was asking Errol weird funny questions in turn which seems to piss him off. Then one reporter said this is a toss up 50/50 fight lol...... Dam Errol looks focus and ready to do exactly WHAT he said.

          Agreed!

Spence might feel like he's getting no respect And that 50/50 shit is probably pissing him off more every time he hears it.

I applaud Garcia, but this fight may leave long lasting effects if\when he loses. I honestly give Garcia 25% chance up to the point when Spence really gets going and then its going to get ugly, real fast.

I think this is really clever from Spence. He might be a bit concerned about Garcia’s boxing and wants him in there angry and coming forward, which would be suicide

Too many people buying the marketing job on Spencer. Garcia will ironically be the toughest opponent of his entire career.....just think about that for a moment, LMAO.

I respect Mikey big time for taking this fight. He really could have stayed at 135 and 140 and made a easier living, but he chose to go against odds and take on one of the toughest guys at WW. That's what it means to be a champion and he's risking his undefeated record.

I expect Spence to be in top shape and fully focused in this fight. And I have him winning it as probably most boxing fans are, outside of Mikey Garcia's loyal fan base.
