Why Doesn't Antonio Tarver Commentate Fights Anymore???

Serious question here. That guy was great and I'm not sure what happened.

It seems as though after he failed the drug test after the Kayode fight, he just disappeared from the analyst team.

Does anybody know what happened? Moreover.....dammit....he's desperately needed for the Fox telecast because Mancini, Lewis and the other guy have ZERO chemistry and seem disinterested in the fights. I like Goosen when he's around, but the rest of the team sucks.

Pretty much that's what happened it seems like. He had that Spike gig and then he fails a test and is gone. FOX would be smart to hire him or Roy.

Sheesh! I mean, I get it....but I don't. I wonder if he was hard to work with.

I remember Roy pretty much getting axed back in the day when he used to commentate for HBO. From what I remember, he didn't feel it was necessary to attend some fighter meetings and so on. Lol

I don't think Tarver was hard to work with or anything, at least I've never heard that. I just think Spike went out of the PBC business right around he failed a test and that was it for him.

Wish he would get a gig somewhere, maybe put him on the FS1 shows?

This might have something to do with it.

LAND O'LAKES — Former world-champion boxer Antonio Tarver was arrested Monday, after deputies said he punched his girlfriend's teenage son in the face in a dispute over a Waffle House bill.

He's a great commentator though. I'm sure he would have been hired again if it wasn't for his personal issues.

Dang, Tarver must really be broke if he can't pay for a kid's Waffle House bill

It's all about bare knuckle fights for him now. Tarver has a great voice for the job.

He used all his chances with Haymon.

Dude not only had a Showtime gig, but was also hired to commentate boxing for the Olympics on NBC. Lost all that when he failed the test against Kayode. He was arrested for unpaid Vegas ******** debts not long after; Al Haymon bailed him out of jail and paid his $200k ******** debt, with Tarver staging a comeback to pay Haymon back.

So he got back to fighting a commentating for PBC on Spike, but then he failed another drug test and that was that. His suspension is surely over now, but I suppose he used up all his chances with Haymon and I don't know if he has the money to pay the fine to get his license back. As of a year or two ago he owed like $750k in back child support, and he lied on his application when he fought Cunningham so his wages wouldn't be garnished. So chances are if he tries to fight again, he'll be hit with yet another fine and have all his wages garnished.

Networks don't hire guys that are always getting into legal trouble, and without Haymon giving him handouts there isn't much he can do. .. he's lucky to be making a few bucks calling fights for that bareknuckle thing.

EDIT: Apparently he's trying to get his son some sort of opportunity in boxing and it isnt working out.

With the amount of networks now, somebody could use him because I can't think of many commentators better.
