Was he seeing what loma was doing and wanted to prove he can do the same?
I pay attention to fight night weights when they give them and Spense's fight night weight was given as 156 pounds by Showtime for his last fight. That is the fight night weight of an average welterweight not a light middleweight like Lara or Jermell who weigh 168 on fight night. With his bulk up program Mikey says he will weigh 155 on fight night so there won't be much weight difference between Spence and Mikey in the ring. I expect Spence to knock him out because he hits so much harder and takes a punch so much better. Mikey is fighting Spence to try to prove he is the best in the world PFP but it will backfire on him.

He's getting paid more for a Spence fight and if he loses he has an excuse. That's why he took the fight.
