Comments Thread For: Callum Johnson: I Don't Know Why I Didn't Finish Off Beterbiev

Callum Johnson just isn't sure. That was the British light heavyweight's honest answer when asked why didn't try harder to finish off Artur Beterbiev once he floored the Russian knockout artist five months ago. Johnson had every reason to be mindful of Beterbiev's power once he landed a flush left hook that dropped the IBF champion at 1:24 of the second round. A stunned Beterbiev got up and fended off Johnson for the remainder of the second round.

You didn't finish him off because he hit you back...lol And it wasn't a solid knock down. There, now do you remember?

Probably because Beterbiev wasn't so hurt that he wasn't able to throw bombs back.

Giorgio Campanella is still thinking the same about Oscar De La Hoya.

He should have jumped on him. I couldn't believe he let Beterbiev recover like that.

Beterbiev's chin seems suspect to me. I could be wrong, but I seem to remember him getting dropped before this fight too. He's a monster, but if those punches come from a Kovalev instead of a Johnson, I don't think he'll recover.

Callum was careless in the first round when he got tangled in the ropes and Beterbiev clocked him with a free shot which put him down. I'm sure he learned everything from that fight. I'd love to see that rematch down the line.

Now that's a fight is love to see and have a feeling will be the end of Kovalev..Johnson should go after Kovalev or Bivol
