I agree about your pick and really cant see how Mikey can win unless Spence shows up dead at weight(Toney v Tiberi)BUT I do think he will give him some problem's early.A lot of times guys have trouble with little shorter, faster guys at first. But once Spence starts going downhill on him I see a quick pull from Robert. Its why im not really into fight it will only go on as long as Mikey is doing ok but as soon as he gets hurt or starts to tire from bigger guy and Spence's great body attack it Robert will throw in towel.Kinda like GGG vs Brook when Brook was about even up after 4 and then as soon as GGG started getting to him and hurting him at all they stopped fight early. Now I know it turned out to be a fine stoppage due to Brooks eye socket but they DID NOT KNOW about injury until AFTER it was stopped.

This guy just cracks me up now.
Hey Bread, name me your top 5 boxers historically in this category.
Uhh, who are the boxers that generate the most money... who are the establishment favorites in the sport... yeah them!
Gtfoh lol. Canelo the greatest feinter? Really? Ward? Maybe Floyd but that wasn't really his game either. He moved, potshotted, up and down with the jab, dodged your punches, held, rinse repeat. The best feinters are typically guys that go on the front foot. Feinting is for opening up offense. Lomachenko is a way, way, way, way better feinter than Canelo. So is GGG that's a major reason why even with half the reflexes he still had success vs Canelo. Kovalev proved in the Ward fights he had better feints, he just a past prime 4 round fighter at that time so his gas tank let him down, but he used way more feints than Ward did. Ward did some nice feints with the jab, keeping Kovalev guessing up down and different angles to set up some monster clean jabs. That was beautiful feinting by Ward. But besides that he was mostly moving around the outside with both hands up playing defense, waiting for an opportunity to either potshot a jab or duck under Kovalev's jab, clinch, and rough up Kovalev inside.
What success what Ward that wasn't built off Kovalev's weak gas tank was jabs and inside work. The feints set up the jabs, but not the inside work. All of Kovalev's success was outside, and all of it was set up by feints. So you can say Kovalev had 100% success from feints, Ward only 50%. Kovalev bases his entire offense around feints, and it was just as successful as Ward's entire offense which included things other than feints, if that makes sense.
Kovalev is just... I mean look, now Im really almost debating myself, but do we need to do like a P4P best feinter comparison? Kovalev lands 100 punches off 100 feints, but Ward lands 51 punches off of 50 feints, therefore even though Kovalev landed almost twice as many punches off feints, Ward scores 1 more punch per 50 feints than Kovalev does, therefore "feint for feint," Ward is a P4P better feinter.
I mean, who knows lol. Ward has nice feints in general to go with nice outside skills in general, but his bread and butter is inside. Even his outside jab is more set up with look offs and timing than feints. Kovalev is an elite elite elite outside fighter, and feints are his main weapon.
But Kovalev is definitely limited maybe even in his feints in certain ways, but still feints more than Ward. There aren't a ton of big feinters in boxing right now so... Loma, maybe Usyk, Bivol really is very good at it, GGG. That east euro style is built around feints. What Breadman did is like answering the question, "who has the best slick style of all time?" and answering with five eastern euro white pressure fighters. Like bro, Canelo? Canelo has become one of the most explosive and fast and dynamic upper bodies in boxing, lol. That's what he does. Counters faster than you can, with explosive punches that are way harder than you can punch (except when hes facing top guys or even former top guys like GGG, which is almost never so my point stands). He is still not the elite technician Breadman pretends he is. Watch his fights vs Lara and Trout to see that in the past, or even Khan recently, or the GGG rematch is a great example. How is this old slow guy with maybe a quarter inch reach advantage over you at best boxing you off the back foot like Lara all over again, except now it's someone with SLOW feet and SLOW hands doing it not just one of the top 5 slickest southpaws in the game at the time Erislandy Lara?
I mean come on. If Canelo was the technician people said, that wouldn't have happened. That fight was like GGG using technique and skill to land two slow jabs on Canelo, then Canelo sort of just guessing which angle to dip at, getting it wrong and eating a third jab, or getting it right and then delivering a short quick big thudding hook to GGG's body or head before he could react because he's so past prime with his reflexes and Canelo is so much faster than him at this point, plus when someone is going off guessing it can be even faster than when they do it with technique because with technique, you have to see, calculate, and react, but with guessing, you're almost reacting before it even happens, and just hoping it goes like you guessed, but then when it does, you are already ahead of the opponent's position.
Im not saying Canelo stayed competitive with old GGG, even old GGG, by guessing, and with no skill. Obviously he knows what he's doing at a very very high level. He's just not... don't put him in the same conversation with Sweat Pea, Loma, GGG, BHop, etc, in terms of just being a technique artist in the ring.
He's not a top 5 feinter, to get to the point. Top 5 body puncher, top 5 head movement, top 5 body defense, but not a top 5 feinter.
Breadman, he just seems to put whoever is popular. And almost always Canelo, Ward, and Floyd. If he ever has a kid, or he already has one and if he ever has another, that kid's first three words are going to be Canelo, Ward, and Floyd, because his dad talks about them so much. Why is the media always pushing these protected establishment boxers on boxing fans? Why don't they push Loma, Usyk, or even someone not quite as good, Jose Ramirez? Just anyone who is actually willing to fight the best and test themselves vs the very best without all these handicaps and advantages. Fair fights at the top level. Breadman constantly promotes boxers who don't believe in that, so maybe Breadman isn't a boxing lover like he says he is, maybe he just believes he is. But really, he probably loves money, not boxing, lot a lot of the people in boxing, because he is constantly promoting the Money Men who destroy the SPORT rather than the boxers who keep the sport a SPORT even if they don't bring in as much money.
Just my opinion based on reading his mailbag, nothing more. I have big respect for his success training J-Roc, now THAT kid has some impressive skills. That dude is probably more technical than Canelo, just like many many other boxers. You can just go to the same division, Harrison is more technical than Canelo too. They're not better boxers, they wouldn't beat Canelo head to head (JRoc would have a chance though, just not with the judges), but they are more technical. So if they are, then you can imagine, so are many others.Comment

So Loma is the best featherweight of his era by a MILE, 12-0'd the #2 featherweight and almost KO'd him in the 12th round in just Loma's 3rd pro fight, then made the other #2 (Walters) quit after winning every round vs him too. And, he was so dominant at 130, clearly the best 130 pounder of his era unification or not, that the other champs didn't want to fight him, and many still don't.
And yet, to Breadman, he's "not ATG yet" unless he clears out 135.
Uhh, did Breadman's BFF, Andre Ward, clean out 175?
No no no, he didn't just say Loma had to clean out 135, he said he had to clean out the "young guys." You mean like Ward cleaned out Dmitry Bivol, Artur Beterbiev (was a prime champion on the come up, so figuratively young even though he wasn't young in boxing terms), Marcus Browne, and Gvozdyk at 175 before he retired a year older than Loma is now?
Breadman has also talked about Canelo nearing ATG status. This dude just loves his establishment fighters I guess. Whoever Max Kellerman promotes, that's who Breadman promotes, it seems, although at least Max gave Lomachenko full credit almost from the jump. Breadman is not going to give Loma his due until he beats Devin Haney and Tank Davis and all these other young Americans that Breadman seems to prefer, but then when they duck him, Breadman is still going to praise them, and support them, while docking Lomachenko credit for not beating them.
Boxing writers like this are the reason boxing has such a divided community, and also the reason the sport has so few memorable boxing matches anymore. When prominent boxing writers praise and support and hype up the boxers who refuse to fight prime top opponents, they are giving their stamp of approval to ducking in boxing. That's what Breadman has done with his pro-Floyd and pro-Canelo comments (and Ward too with his five year gap between the Froch and Kovalev fights. Embarrassing for any boxer who TRULY wanted to be an ATG and was willing to take the fights to prove it. Ward wasn't, as the five year black hole in his career demonstrates IMO. But, Ward is a more complicated case, what with Kovalev being past decline age, but only a year or two, but his drinking being the bigger factor and Ward having spies in his camp who would have told Ward about that before even signing the contract to fight Kovalev, most likely, which Ward knew would not come to fruition until Kovalev was ANOTHER year older and 33 years old, 1 year past the last prime year for most boxers, 32).
So now, because ducking has been given the stamp of approval by writers like Breadman, the sport is filled with ducking, the sport he claims to respect. It doesn't make sense.Comment

Crawford wants Spence and so does Porter... sick of the boogeyman man narrative in boxing these days..Comment

Lol. That's silly. Crawford signed a supposedly awesome deal for himself. No he shouldn't go elsewhere to get Spence fight. Spence needs Crawford, Crawford wants to beat Spence. Crawford is widely seen as #1, or #2 P4P fighter on earth...Spence is seen as a guy who made drunken rounds giving all his reasons why he won't fight Crawford. Porters are on record talking to Haymon and Co. To ask for Spence fight and was told Spence wanted go another direction. Then Spence made a fight with robotic LW. AND wants 41 yr old Pacquiao who already been beaten by Jeff Horn lol. Hey I LIKE Spence alot, he is unproven, rarely fights, and doesn't challenge himself with relevant competition and then the media spins that into a 'boogie man report' like they did with GGG, Ortiz etc and the herd falls for it everytime. All this is actual fact. Not sure why anyone would think someone NEED to do what they want them to in order to make a real fight. That's just ****ing ******ed and I'd bet a yr of salary that if Crawford signed elsewhere tomorrow Spence still wouldn't want that fight for 5 more yrs or so. If you actually love professional boxing then ask the most of it and stop the my side your side argument...Comment

Spence doesn't need Crawford. He is getting a PPV fight this weekend and if he wins he can unify with Keith Thurman or Shawn Porter.Lol. That's silly. And there's also an attractive PPV opportunity against Manny Pacquiao.
What options does Crawford have? Amir Khan?
And then what?Comment

this was a top fighter conversation. Crawford, Loma, And Usyk are P4P top 3. Now your trying pull me into a boring yawn worthy business schedule that I have zero interest in discussing. Top three guys right there, FIGHTERS should go take that if they wanna be seen as that. And I don't mind Khan fight for Crawford. I wouldn't be shocked if Khan were to beat Spence. Lol. I love fighters who want probe themselves, they start with dumb excuses then I get down on them personally.Comment

Crawford might have signed a good deal for himself but who's he going to fight?
All the other top welterweights are with pbc. He didn't even have to sign with haymon. He could have become a free agent like mikey and make those fights. I've no skin in the game. I like both Crawford and Spence. I just want to see them fight before they're past their best.Comment
