Didn't have to go to PBC BUT given the money that is being thrown around right now...BIG MISTAKE not at least testing the Market as a Free Agent. You honestly think DAZN would not have been in the Terrance Crawford sweepstakes and throw BIG MONEY at him with them desperately needing a Marquee American fighter for DAZN US? Come On!

This is a move he will regret later on IMO especially if he never gets the big fights vs the other 147 Fighters

Crawford has also been an undisputed champion and cleaned out another division in addition to being the 2014 fighter of the year and was part of HBO's best viewed broadcasts and is now right near the top of the most watched boxing matches on TV.

      Charlo has done basically nothing.

And if PBC woulda made him the best offer than he'd obviously have much bigger fights.

Bud is one of the best fighters in the game he has tremendous leverage but promoters have boxers shook.

In general I think boxers are pretty ****** business-wise & too loyal to promoters doe. Even MMA guys are playing out their UFC contracts more now to test their market value & often finding more money in surprising places.
From my understanding he still had a number of fights/years left on it but Top Rank offered an extension with improved terms on the current.

i truly believe that if canelo wanted to fight charlo theyd have no problem getting the fight done from charlos side....

and what if the pbc lands golovkin?

i mean...is charlo supposed to jump over to fight andrade? or maybe hope billy joe saunders grows a set too?

i guarantee if canelo came calling theyd get the fight done

for the record..i dont criticize crawford for resigning....i just think that he had to have known...and sitting back and watching arum potentially block a fury/wilder rematch isnt going to help his chances....

his promoter wanted garcia for him...good name in a fight he should easily win...and he couldnt get it....i understand TR built him...and he makes good money over there fighting easer-ish type fights....but i think he beats prob most of the Pbc ww roster with ease save for maybe spence and thurman

If Crawford is criticised for not joining pbc for the big names should charlo be criticised also?
Charlo has been his own path for a while now, knocking off whomever he can get in the ring with, and is currently mandatory challenger to the WBC crown.

It's stalling him out, this wait, but there's a path to the opportunity that he is looking for.

Terence Crawford is WBO champion, with no one to fight.

And it's because all of the viable welterweights are with PBC (and the WBC/WBA/IBF all work together but not with the WBO, by the WBO's choice).

After Charlo gets his WBC title shot (or is handed the vacant the), he still has a few fights before the well runs dry (SD-Culcay winner, Hurd if he cleans up 154lbs and moves up, Lara if he moves up, and a few lesser names.

Who is there for Crawford to fight?

You can make the argument that Crawford and Spence are equals, in which case they should do a joint broadcast.
Crawford-Khan won't do 200k PPV buys on ESPN; Spence-Mikey may end up getting 400k PPV buys on FOX.

                Context matters

I’ve seen people claim charlo is the best mw. How can he prove it whilst fighting on a channel without the top talent at the weight.

They must be dumb, a fighter can do whatever they want. It might not benefit them in the longer run, we might not agree with it but they earn the right to do that. Same with Wilder signing with Top rank.

Let him get past Amir Khan first.....I think Amir Khan will win the fight unless his jaw lets him down again.
