Interested to see Saunders next move, I think he easily beats everyone at 160 except Canelo which would be a good fight, he is getting a lot of hate on here but people have to realise he is a supremely talented fighter. The only way to confirm that is get that form back that saw him humiliate Lemieux. I hope he does it this year.

This is hilarious. Again, ever since BJs ran around the ring with Lemieux, BJS is supposedly a talented boxer. If Andy Lee hadn’t gone through wars prior BJS would’ve been knocked out.

What kind of “supremely talented” boxer comes back with an 8 rounder against a nobody? Don’t say it’s a tune up or he had a lay off because you said he’s supremely talented AND he never had an extended time off.

He does NOT have the discipline or the ability to move into an elite level. He’s not fought at elite level, there are many at light heavy he could beat as there are at 12 stone but these opponents are NOT elite.

What it was I bet was that when they were making the Fury deal, Warren asked Arum to have Zurdo vacate the 168 belt so BJS could fight for it. But Zurdo wasn't ready to do that and it back fired on them.

I actually think they didn’t even bothered doing that. They had to create a massive headline for BJS too. They couldn’t just have him turn up with Fury announcing his massive deal with ESPN. So they thought let’s announce he would move up and fight for the WBO title..... against some cab driver. Once the announcement was over they can pull any other move. Just like Zurdo coming out and saying he wasn’t vacated his title and now this. This stuff is normal with Warren/WBO shows.

Regardless of what you think about BJS' overall talent level/work ethic/character, the Lemieux performance clearly had nothing to do with "a bad night" and everything to do with a glaringly obvious disparity in skill and speed. Lemieux can be fun to watch when he manages to land his bombs and is one of my favorite fringe contenders at MW, but Saunders--and by extension anyone with Saunders' style--is an absolute stylistic nightmare for Lemieux and one that is only exacerbated by his below average speed, short stature and short reach. He has the potential to do well and maybe pulla surprise from anyone who will stand and trade...beyond that, barring some kind of Rocky III makeover, he's out of luck. Open-shut, end of story.

This is basically what I suspect. Would not be remotely surprised if it was known all along, at least to Warren if not Saunders, that there was a distinct possibility Ramirez would recant the decision to vacate and that this was more or less about just getting Saunders' name in the mix again.

Am sure Zurdo was shocked, if a fighter was vacating then they would be the first to come out and say it. Moreover that belt made him stay in the mix/relevant. Unless he was moving up and getting a straight shot at a belt why would be vacate. It’s just the usual Warren BS.
