Comments Thread For: Dmitry Bivol: Joe Smith is a Good Challenge, For Me To Stop Him!

Dmitry Bivol knows that Joe Smith Jr. is coming to rip his title away from him and the WBA World Light-Heavyweight king says that will make for a great fight when he defends his belt at Turning Stone Resort Casino in Verona, NY on Saturday March 9, live on DAZN in the US and on Sky Sports in the UK.

Joe Smith is a gatekeeper at best - he's like a gatekeeper to the gatekeepers.

Bivol is overrated, can't wait till the guy steps up. It's at the point where he'll either sink or swim at the top level, let's see.

Thought Bivol was contemplating moving down to 168?

Smell an upset if Bazooka Joe lands a big bomb on the chin of Bivol who was hesitant to commit against an inferior puncher and past prime Pascal!

Should be a good action packed fight though, after this they need to get a tourney going at 175 with all the champions!

He wanted Canelo at 168, not sure if he's contemplating moving down in weight though. He has mentioned that he thinks he isn't that big for LHW, so maybe.

Well, Smith Jr KO'd Fonfara, the PREMIER gatekeeper on the Showtime side of the 175 division, and he was the first to KO BHop, so I dont think this is accurate. Based on the Barrera fight, yes it is, but Smith's jaw broke 1 round into that fight. A "gatekeeper to gatekeeper" would not have lasted 11 more rounds after that, and would not have the most dangerous punch in the division...

Rooting for Smith, but he'll likely get 12-0'd.

Steps up?? Hmmm he's 11-0 and just fought 3 top tier LHWs. He's ready for Kovalev, would destroy Alvarez. He beat Chilemba and destroyed Berrera. 11 fights and one third against top tier fighters. fook off you noisy b i t c h
