In a kickboxing match could Jon Jones defeat Anthony Joshua?

In a kickboxing rules match ie no takedowns, grappling etc. could Jon Jones have enough to defeat AJ?

Yes. Jon Jones's leg kicks are brutal.

That’s a interesting concept. If it were a 4 rounder it would be very competitive. Those kicks from bones might chop down AJ tho. But AJ has got some height and if he could stay on the outside it would be to his advantage. I’d favor Jon Jones 55/45 to win.

With no wrestling I think AJ would win by KO. He might have trouble with the leg kicks but Jones would have trouble with the long fast straight fast powerful punches of the best heavyweight fist fighter in the world. AJ never fought anyone like Jones but Jones never fought anyone even a tenth as good as AJ with his fists. That's why AJ makes so much more money per fight. If champion kick boxers could box good enough to be champion boxers then they would be champion boxers to make so much more money.

LHW division isn't super stacked with talent outside of a very, very good wrestler in Cormier who also happens to be 4 foot tall.

If AJ could learn to block a lick and kick himself he'd fucc Jon up. UFC striking is primitive compared to a boxer

This is not a question to ask boxing fans, they don't understand other combat sports and are stuck in the past. Jones doesn't just use standard low, mid and high kicks but also an extremely wide variety of teeps, spinning kicks, knees, foot stomps etc. He uses his strikes on every body part of the opponent, breaking them down from top to bottom. AJ would be limping within 20 seconds of the match from having his knees smashed and then he's a sitting duck.

AJ isn't even the most suitable puncher(that's the only thing boxers are) for this kind of matchup.

Dumb question you should have said Dillan Whyte as he can fight kickboxing, Joshua has never done anything else
