This isn’t the amateurs. Jabs and back pedaling doesn’t win fights in the pros. There is more to it. Lara landed more jabs, but Castano landed more power shots. His effective aggression was good. It was similar to the Canelo fight. Lara has to let his hands go more

Castano seems to have this cult following but Im far from blown away. He has short T Rex arms thatll make it hard to reach these lean fighters at 154 and his accuracy sucks. I know Lara isnt the easiest opponent to fight but his punch selection was poor..
Castano isnt the next coming of anything.Comment

I was at the fight rooting for Castano. I left right when the fight ended before the scoring was announced. I thought it was a good fight but that Lara had pulled it off. I was a little surprised that it was ruled a draw. No robbery but I just didn't see 6 rounds that Castano had won.Comment

First time on the big stage , maybe stage freight
Not saying he’s the best thing since sliced bread but he is a better fighter than what you saw Saturday night
Very relentless and loves to **** the body
Very high punch output
Really believe he was a little dumbfounded , let alone the fact he was fighting a good fighter
In a rematch I think he would win clearly and probably by way of koComment

To everyone who says Lara won how do you explain these stats? & don't say compuboxs inaccurate because its dead on Lara wasn't doing anything most the fight besides killing the action..
To greenfield02 I ask you is outlanding your opponent by 65 more total punches & by 78 power punches not considered "beating your opponents ass for 12 rds" & if not then what is?
Heres another breakdown that shows why CLEARLY castano won(as clear as any victory ever has been statistically)
Castano landed a whopping 93% of his punches as power shots(thats as high as Ive ever seen a fighter land in a title fight,to put it into perspective Canelo only landed 63% of his punches as power shots vs Chavez jr ffs), Castano landed 34% more total punches than Lara & he landed 43% more power shots than Lara. Lara only outlanded Castano in 3 rds by an average of 1.3 punches, they only had 2 rds with even punches landed but Castano still landed more power shots in those rds,& Castano outlanded Lara in double digits most the rds he won.
Now if those stats aren't enough to convince someone Lara lost then theres nothing left to debate, because come on it doesn't get any clearer than that, ffs Castano put up among the highest percentage of power shots landed ever witnessed in a title fight & if outlanding your opponent by 34% & by 43% more power shots doesn't win you the fight then boxing is as good as dead.

It's Bull how fighters use the word Robbery in a close fight. No Robbery, just a close fight. Robbery should only be used when you beat the crap out of your opponent for 12 rounds and don't get the decision. In this case one point win for either fighter or a draw is proper even if draws are not popular. Here's a suggestion if you don't want to get what you call a robbery, then take more risks and don't leave it to the judges.Comment

I had Castano winning 7-5 and also picked him to win.I picked him to win because I thought Lara might be done and Castano is a good fighter.I said at time I thought Lara has the higher ceiling and will go down as better fighter but thought Lara was ready to be got.Lara has slowed but is deff not shot.Anyways my point is hearing all these clowns saying ROBBERY! ROBERY! that's a bunch of BS.Evertime your your hero don't win or the fighter you picked don't win they call ROBBERY.That was no Robbery and that come's from someone who picked Castono and scored it for Castano(7-5).It was just a close fight.Comment

You cant just reley on punch stats alone to prove your point. You do know that its just two guys counting punches right? And I believe they are still doing it from ringside where your viev and crowd can influence you.Anyways NOT A ROBBERY just a close fight. And this comes from someone who picked Castano(because I felt Lara was ready for a fall even though at best he is better fighter)and ALSO scored it 7-5 for Castono. But again no robbery.Comment
