Comments Thread For: De La Hoya: Canelo vs. Munguia is a Natural Fight For The Future

A few days ago, Mexican superstar Saul "Canelo" Alvarez stated that he's no longer in favor of facing another opponent from Mexico. However, he also left the door open for a potential fight in the future with WBO junior middleweight champion Jaime Munguia, who is being groomed as a potential Canelo opponent - possibly in 2020.

I like and respect Munguia but he isn't anywhere near ready for Canelo!
I'm a huge fan of both fighters but Munguia needs another two years before he's ready for Canelo.
Canelo will be 30-31 by then so Munguia shouldn't rush a Canelo fight. It'll be a great fight if and when it happens but I'm going with Canelo all the way!

Munguia is a bum. They trying to groom that boy and lay him out in the pasture down the road. They do that all the time with Mexican fights in Mexico. Build him up on some easy fights, mismatches, get him a title, then feed him to the lions. Old school shít. Handicappers worth their salt spot these guys a mile away.

it will be a good fight in 5 years. Canelos reflexes and speed will start declining and munguia will grow into his grown man strength. DAZN Canelo vs Munguia in Mexico City. 100,000+ attendance

This means paid off judges for both fighters until that point. Depending on when rhe fight takes place, de la hoya might rob canelo in this fight.
