This is an example of having pre-notion thoughts going into the fight and trying to defend it by saying something crazy like this. Awful decision? No f'n way was that an awful decision. It was actually the right decision. Both fighters had their moments and it was super competitive.
Lara is not the same fighter. Alot of people didn't like his previous style where he moved around, but that's what is was great at. He's not that same fighter. And he has to resort to what he's not great at. He's still a top fighter, but not the same fighter who fought against Canelo.
Lots of people here saying Lara got the better punches ?
When ?
While he was holding or pedalling
Come on man, Lara did land his fair share of clean shots. He is a sharp shooter so his shots will be cleaner, but Castano was out landing him. Just that some of his shots weren't as effective as he would smother himself. Castano clearly picked up the pressure the last two rounds and definitely took them. But the middle rounds were controlled by Lara. Castano went away from the body as Bernstein pointed out during the telecast.
No complaints from me tbh. There were a lot of swing rounds, and rounds that castaño let Lara set the pace. The kid was doing his best work when he was using the jab and going to the body, but there would be long stretches in which he would abandon it.
Nah, just a close fight that wasn't easy to score......
Castano got robbed CLEARLY. Castano 50 more punches landed & more landed in almost every single rd. This dumbass Farhood from Showtime who was scoring the fight obviously hadn't seen the compubox til after the fight, then tried to justify his card by saying"its scored by rd not total punches" yet Castano landed far more every rd & made Lara cower like a pssy.
