What do you make of his resume and level of competition? What could he have done differently?

Also, what do you make of potential future fights against Breazeale, Kownacki, Ortiz II?

(For the sake of the thread let's ignore the gift he got in his previous fight and the fact he shouldn't even be champion. Let's assume he is going to go back to fighting a similar level of opposition he was previously fighting.)

No, he has avoided Joshua and that shows he's not confident of winning.

Breazeale AJ Whyte would be a better trio of fights.

He squandered his career on no-hopers. Now he feels a sense of entitlement. He should have fought Wlad, he should have fought White in U.K., or tried to get the fight with Parker when he was champ. He has no drawing power, he is the least known American champ in history of division. And that is with social media and internet steaming.

Tis quite a sad story really when you think about it. In 5 years he'll be gone from the sport. Like you say, so far he has piled up a list of missed opportunities, and his management team seem like they don't know what they're doing. If Wilder was British he would have been in some dynamite fights on PPV.

He's made a mockery out of himself since winning the title , he couldn't even get out of the ring in time either for the comedy show to start as Finkel grabbed the Mic and called him a protected baby letting the world know what's in store and we sure got it. Ha

I think Breazeale knocks him out , he defeats Kownacki , and if Ortiz looks bad tonight I'm guessing that's the fight he'll push for.

What he could have done different is actually learn in his training camp with Klitschko after getting beat up and stuck with that team , instead he went on a path of ignorance and delusions fed to him by a master manipulator Finkel and a bunch of incompetent people they call themselves trainers and management.

Wilder has had 8 title defenses. The last two defenses against Ortiz and Fury were against high quality opponents. The other 6 title defenses were against low quality opponents. I would give him a C as a champion. Most of AJ's title defenses have been against high quality opponents and I would give him a B+ as a champion.

his last two voluntary defenses were king kong and fury. with joshua unwilling to fight him last year, who was he supposed to fight that would have been more compelling than king kong and fury?

                  povetkin and takam?

Ye he stepped up in 2018, but now hes reverting back to where he was before
Povetkin would be a better fight than whoever hes fighting next.
