It's a fact that Jacobs will have to soundly beat Alvarez's ass in order to win a decision. But it is a fight, so isn't that the object?

People claim the only way to beat Canelo is by knock out, yet when his opponents are in the ring with him and experience his accuracy combined with power while realizing he's not so easy to hit flush, they usually become uncharacteristically defensive (even when that doesn't suit their style) and stay busy largely with jabs and arm punches-- basically hoping the judges will score the fight like fanboys who insist his opponent's jabs should be scored equal to one of Canelo's power punches.
Lara who has a reputation of being a bike rider took it to comedic levels against Canelo by refusing to engage with him at all for long stretches in the fight, and he'd go into full retreat mode every time Canelo connected, thus conceding exchange after exchange while giving the judge's the impression his punches were more damaging. One of the few times he tried exchanging in the pocket, Canelo rocked him and split his brow open then it was back to the races again. He literally resembled a skittish deer caught in the spotlight.Comment

Boxing in the USA is a race baiting sport. The judging and promotion is slanted towards the popular Mexican fighter particularly in Nevada, California, and Texas. Whitaker found this out when he soundly whipped Chavez back in 93 at the Alamodome. Lara, golovkin, frankie Randall, meldrick Taylor, Austin trout have all learned this. Hell even Mayweather was given an even score card against Canelo. Unless Jacobs stops Canelo, he won’t win. Mexican Americans support fighters from Mexico and spend big money. It’s the reason Mexican anthems are for some reason played for Mexican American fighters “in honor of their heritage.” That’s the reality that Daniels is certainly aware ofComment

You can spin it to the land of Utopia Jacobs will not win Oscar and Canelo study fighters who they know they can beat he learned from the Mayweather lostComment

For that fight Lara trained for the wrong sport. He came for a track meet instead of a boxing match.Comment

I also believe Jacobs can actually beat Canelo, but if it goes to a decision, Danny isnt getting it.Comment

Lara was spot on: "Canelo has always had a great chin that's why they fight the fights."
Pretty easy to fight good fighters when you're impossible to knockout and you have the judges in your pocket.
I wonder why he's still running from charlo like the fraud a$$ b---h that he is?Comment

I have to agree with Lara on his suggestion to Jacob's. He will not win a decision even if he does. However, this is not only true for Canelo being the face of boxing but anyone who has been the face of boxing. Mayweather hot a gift vs Castillo, Pacquiao vs Marquez, Cotto vs Clottey and Mosley, the list goes on.Comment
