Unfortunately, every close round goes to Canelo in every big fight. Money (in the judge's pockets) talks I guess...
Nice. Yeah man it's fun looking back and scoring those fights again sometimes.

But hey as you said Canelo is the top superstar in boxing right now and him winning brings in a lot of money. Just the way it is. If he had 10 losses no one would really tune in to watch him. I think he is a great fighter though I give him credit there.

GGG CLEARLY WON THE 1ST. HE WON THE 2ND FIGHT BY 1 POINT ON MY CARD, A DRAW WOULD ALSO BE ACCEPTABLE, THE FIGHT WAS CLOSE, CANELO DEF DID NOT WIN THOUGH.
Honestly I think the 'loser' answering questions in the ring is ****** anyway. What do you expect them to say right after a fight? They should give that moment to the 'winner' and then answer any questions in press conference. No issue with a guy doing that. I don't think GGG even had any malicious intent with that.

      • I like the approach Jacobs is taking to try and get into Canelo’s head. By suggesting he ran GGG close and GGG beat Canelo, he’s simply trying to get Canelo thinking about how close the match up is. Whether it works or not, who knows, I do feel the pressure is mounting on Canelo and we’re going to see how he deals with the next phase of his career.

        • Isn't this the same guy who thought broner beat Mickey garcia?

In the first fight Canelo did the same thing as Jacobs but landed higher connect rates, and made GGG miss more then Jacobs and didn't get dropped in the process. Also had GGG shook to death only 8 body punches speaks for itself and GGG missed more punches and at higher rates then ever in his career with 485 punches to be exact. Some fighters don't even throw that much in a fight let alone come up with air that much. GGG the so called killer was outlanded in power shots both fights but the excuse for winning was well he came forward and jabbed doesn't matter if those guys landed the higher quality shots.

The rematch is hands down the worst for GGG where again he was outlanded in power shots by a larger margin and this time missed 645 punches and after being clowned on for so few body shots threw even fewer this time. And after saying well I looked bad the first fight because Canelo wouldn't fight me mexican style and begged him to for the rematch. Not only did all the bad trends from the first fight continued he ran from a Mexican Style fight got walked down and his face broken in the process to the point his own trainer told him to his face he was losing then told reporters and fans AFTER the fight that GGG didn't win.

            I rate GGG's losses like this Canelo 2 > Canelo 1 > Jacobs

He lost Canelo 1 and Jacobs but they were close. He got beat down and clearly lost the rematch and his own trainer knows it.
Nice post! People act like canelo neutralizing ggg’s body shots is no big deal. These same people loved to rave on ggg’s body work but after these two fights say body shots are woreless and it’s all about them jabs.

All jabs count. Its the most fundamnental punch in boxing. But counting punches and only jabbing is amatuer style boxing. Andre Ward and Floyd Mayweather aren't limited fighters that have to resort to only throwing jabs and trying to count punches. So yes their jabs lead to more variety of punches thrown and ring generalship. While Golovkins jab against Canelo was more of a desperate tactic to try to trick the people into thinking he was winning the fight.

Golovkin’s power jab isn’t some desperate tactic. It does damage and it’s one, if not, his best punch.

I guess calling it a power jab makes it a different punch... lol
