Instead of using his height and range or any of the things you'd naturally expect from a taller fighter in a marquee championship fight--things which he *has* done correctly in the past--he froze up like Rain Man for a brief night of lifespan-shaving liver shots and ****** autistic grins toward his corner. That night didn't (quite) represent the height of his abilities; he just succumbed to nerves and bombed in the worst way possible, or so I'm convinced.
Just like he did against Callum Smith. Fielding's a decent boxer, he just can't deal with the pressure of a huge show televised to millions of viewers.

Help me out here....how did Fielding manage to make a "mistake" when he literally didn't do a fucking thing in that fight?

I mean, literally....he didn't even give himself a chance to make any mistakes because he didn't lift a finger.

Exactly. Some fighters just psyche themselves out at a certain level of exposure. Even veterans accustomed to big ponds can succumb to this when stepping up to the next level for a high profile championship. Others thrive and show the best version of themselves. I see Jacobs as the latter, as do most I think. This is assuredly his biggest fight, but he touched this level before with GGG and handled himself more than capably.
