Who's the slave? Finkel won't let 'our fighter' go.

    So who's actually the slave?

Deontay Wilder called AJ a slave to the white man, yet his own white man manager coming out to say he's not going to let his own fighter go (to ESPN) even though the deal would be much more lucrative for Wilder.

We didn’t want to – and are not going to – give up our fighter up to them.

As is well documented, AJ controls where his fights are and currently he's getting a guarantee of 40million to fight on DAZN (10x more than Wilder's last guarantee) and has offered Wilder a purse worth more than Wilder's entire existence to fight Breazele!

And that's not even counting two very very lucrative fights with AJ that could get him 50million+.

So who exactly is the slave in this instance?

I'm actually starting to feel bad for Deyonce. He's too ****** to realise how he's being used and manipulated, like so many great fighters of the past.

      Agreed one hundred percent

Wilder has been manipulated and taken advantage of imo

How they convinced him to fight fury for 7m instead of Joshua for over double is beyond me

I would think anyone who is confused and wants to get pregnant wouldn't be that hard to pull a fast one on and relay confusing information to him to sway him into what you want him to do ?

Why would Wilder give ESPN two fights, when he was set to split a guaranteed $35m with Tyson Fury on the rematch and Wilder is basically two fights away from being a solely PPV fighter?

The beauty of basically living your entire career free to pursue the best opportunity possible, wherever it is, is that the idea of giving up that freedom gives everyone in the camp pause.

Wilder vs Joshua is the fight; rather than worrying about what Wilder does with the rest of his time, let Joshua fight Miller, and then again sit with Wilder's camp to see if an agreement could be had.

60/40 Joshua split of everything and you have a fight

I wonder how much Wilder would have made in the rematch? Considering the money he could have made against Joshua as well, he must be down $50m at least

Finkel has really done a number on this guy.

            TO THIS DAY!

AJ turned down 50 million to fight for much less than 50 million.

Whatever ESPN or DAZN offers Wilder, Haymon will match, which is why Haymon's stars typically don't leave.

Yes, Joshua turned down $50m. He earned £20m+/$26.5m for the Povetkin fight. Probably more overall though - you're still yet to disprove that.

Deontay Wilder net worth - $25m.

I think Joshua is leading the way when it comes to earning so I think he can do what he likes.

Lol I'm pretty sure he meant "give up" in the way that Frank Warren amd Fury wanted the fight next and ESPN said "No, he's fighting an interim fight in between, we run the show and make the calls" even though Warren is the actual promoter.

Letting a network dictate and control who you fight and when is "giving up" your fighter. That is literally outrageous and no way should Finkel give up his fighter that way.
