Not everyone knows this, this is why I made the thread.
Some people think that the IBF rule means that you cannot weight more than 10 pounds the weigh in weight, on fight night. Which is not the case.Comment

You fail to mention that the IBF doesn’t have a second day weigh in for Unification Bouts. Put it all there, as a matter of fact put their writing on the wall, not yours. The IBF has a second weigh in, the day of the fight, yes.
BUT, it's in the early morning. It means that the fighter cannot weight more than 10 pounds than the contracted weight at that moment. Then, for the rest of the day, they can keep rehydrating.
Examples? Lemieux rehydrated to 175 on fight night vs Golovkin, after doing the weigh in at 170 in the morning.
Example of how can it affect a fighter weight and/or performance on fight night weight? well it's rumoured that Lemieux was 178 against Stevens, when he didn't have to follow that rule.
The worst part for me would be to be forced to wake up early to make the weigh in... why don't they allow fighters to sleep until they want...

Its grand-stranding by the ibf because with over 12 hrs still to go to fight time it doesn't mean much, if they were serious it would be inside 2 hrs from the fight. The IBF has a second weigh in, the day of the fight, yes.

I don't know anyone that sleeps in on the day of a big fight, even the best most experienced have anxiety even if they don't show it, they rest up for the day may be a small light workout to loosen up, although a lot will have an hour or so nap late afternoon.Comment

how is it cheating if 99.99999% of boxing is cutting 20-25 lbs in camp? If a guy can cut 100 lbs and put back on 50 after the weigh in(I know it's not possible) then let him. It will eventually catch up to him..Comment
