Mayweather vs Pacquiao circa 2009. Would the same outcome had resulted?

The size difference was evident in their fight.

How would it have played out?
In 2009, Floyd was still spitting distance from his physical best (Gatti was likely peak Floyd, but even a primed 150lb Floyd was firing on all gears for the Oscar fight). Pacquiao, for all the marvel, was still fighting two weights above where he should've been and on the cusp of a power outage (for whatever reason).

Floyd walks him onto a massive shot late, after making it starkly clear that he's a big 140lber with skills taking on a huge 130lber with less skills and overeagerness/recklessness.

Yes. It would have been a lot more exciting fight though.

        Floyd UD...

I’m a Pac fan but Floyd was always the better fighter.

come on we know how boxing works. politics would give floyd the decision again in a fight he didnt deserve to win. all he has to do is not get ko'd and he knows how to do that. stay away, run out the clock, pull your punches so as to not put yourself in danger. just check when they actually fought pac landed the much cleaner, harder, head snapping punches but the judges and even most people were washed into thinking floyd was doing something when he wasn't. we can go back now and see pac deserved to win but thats not worth much

Unfortunately we will never know. But one thing I can say is that it definitely would have been a more exciting fight than the one we got.

he looked like sh-it in that fight and thats firing on all gears? an old oscar was able to corner him constantly and put tons of pressure on him and oscar was never a pressure fighter.

you are implying floyd ko's him? did you even watch when they fought? he pulled all his punches and had nothing on them and now he's koing pac? how do you ko someone if you arent willing to sit down and get any leverage? an arm punch probably isn't going to do it unless hes fighting khan or david price.

floyds not the kind of guy like marquez who plants himself and gets full leverage on the counter shot. to do this you risk getting hit with the big shot yourself. you should know this since you seem to be such a big fan. he doesnt plant himself because: hes focused on defense first and foremost so he needs light feet, he wants to be able to spin off and escape/reset faster, and he focuses on quicker less powerful punches where he puts less body weight into them.

but let me guess you think every punch is worth the same. a floyd tickle your nose jab or open handed(not legal) slap hook with nothing on it is just as good as pac jarring floyds head around with a shot. that is why he wins. he plays the crowd not his opponent. he wouldn't have to really beat pac. all he would have to do is rely on perception to to the work for him and people would make up crap about how he schooled or dominated pac. they still do that to this very day even though we have the video of the fight and he did no such thing. him doing so little is like a fill in the blank adventure and the people just fill it in with nonsense that didnt happen. if an alien with no biases came to score the fight and didnt know who either guy was he would see pac as the clear winner but floyd knows how to play on biases so kudos.

This idiot has been on this forum for years and still doesn't know what a boxing glove looks like when you slightly ball your fist.

I feel sorry for this man

Yea I think it's the same outcome. Styles make fights. Cotto to me would always be a tougher fight for Floyd than Manny ever would be.

Better question is this fight IN LAS VEGAS OR NOT? If it is then Mayweather wins no matter what, if it isn't then Its a true toss up.
