Comments Thread For: Chris Eubank Jr: Big Things Coming in The Future With PBC Pact

Saturday evening saw Chris Eubank Jr overcome the valiant effort of two-time world champion James DeGale to claim the IBO world super middleweight title for the second time. Eubank Jr outworked DeGale throughout, sending the former British, European and world champion to the canvas on multiple occasions as he recorded a unanimous decision victory at London's O2 Arena.

Eubank Jr is tough as old boots and I don't think he'd get counted out against any of the champs at 160 or 168, but I also don't think he'd beat most of them either. At 160, Canelo and Andrade would score near shutouts and Jacobs would out-tough him. At 168, he wouldn't get inside the reach of Smith or Zurdo, Plant would school him and if Saunders takes the WBO title I could only see a repeat of their last meeting. Dirrell wouldn't be a bad shout as he's now the weakest current champ at either weight and had trouble with Yildirim, who Eubank demolished easily.

MAXIMISE PROFIT, REGARDLESS OF THE NEGATIVE IMPACT IT HAS ON THE WIDER BOXING COMMUNITY AND THE SPORT AS A WHOLE.

Boxingscene’s stance on revenue gained from ibo advertising and publishing articles promoting them.

Anyone got any recommendations of another site with more legitimate journalism?

It couldn’t be anymore blatant how bad they are promoting the IBO belt could it. I don’t know if it makes me want to shyte or vomit more....perhaps both at the same time

Quillin has a fight scheduled on FOX/FS1 with PBC. And Haymon isn’t a promoter, he’s a manager. Signing with him doesn’t mean one is signed to a specific promoter or even a network. Just as the Haymon managed Jacobs (among others) fights on DAZN for Fast Eddie, Eubank could easily fight on DAZN or ESPN. Haymon’s goal is to make fighters money, and teach them how to maximize their own profits by cutting out the promoters and self promoting in the big fights. It’s expressly why the biggest PBC fighters have their own promotional companies....they don’t want to have to pay promoters or pay the promoters taxes on getting a cut of the fighters purse

Quillin was on the slide long before that questionable stoppage. I did a post about it some time ago.

You really think the biggest PBC fighters actually promote their own fights???
