Hearn: Networks Wont Stop Us From Making Big Fights, AJ Can Fight On ESPN/Showtime

Interesting comment made by Hearn when asked for his opinion on Wilder’s statement that Fury’s ESPN deal is bad news for AJ. Hearn responded that he has a very solid and close relationship with Arum and has worked with him multiple times as opposed to Haymon who hates Arum so he disagrees with Wilder.

Hearn went as far to say AJ can face Fury on ESPN as he is on a fight by fight deal with DAZN and DAZN cannot stop AJ from making big fights. In the end it comes down to who pays the most and and Hearn said DAZN will put up the most money but with Fury being exclusive to ESPN DAZN can work with ESPN and make that fight happen and they are happy to do that.

Hearn also said he is open to negotiate with Showtime for the Wilder fight and the latest offer sent to team Wilder was actually for a first fight in the US with an open broadcasting option so AJ could have fought Wilder on Showtime but team Wilder despite this have not responded to any offers.

In the UK AJ is exclusive to Sky and cannot fight on any other network unless it’s a mutually agreed dual broadcast.

I hope this is true.. AJ can possibly fight these guys despite their exclusive contracts.. well, Wilder doesn’t have an exclusive contract but he is loyal to Showtime (No idea why when they won’t even give him a contract) Wilder has been mugged off as he doesn’t have the financial perks of a contract but is still restricted to a network despite him saying he’s a free agent, when has he ever fought on a different network?? It’s most likely due to the advice of Haymon, can’t see Haymon allowing Wilder to fight under a Arum promotion on ESPN.

Of course he can. Joshua isn't exclusive to a network in the USA. He could fight Wilder on Showtime, Fury on ESPN, as long as both are on Sky.

It's probably not something that would negatively impact the Matchroom relationship with DAZN either. Joshua fighting either of Fury or Wilder, just benefits DAZN after he wins, while they wouldn't have to lay out big money for the fights.

I don't think the budget is there for showtime to pay Wilder what his rivals are getting. PPV is the only way they would be able to do that, which means Wilder fighting dangerous opponents. And he cannot do that for every fights.

LMAO, what are things coming to when we talk about the opportunities Wilder has had to make a fight with AJ and we use the words "the latest offer sent to team Wilder..." in a sentence.
The guy is a crap fighter, poorly managed, and blatantly runs his mouth while being the biggest ducking coward in boxing.
There's absolutely nothing to like about the guy.
