For those of us old enough to remember the creation of the WBO, as well as the decade that followed where nobody gave the title any credence other than the British, it's never going to be taken as seriously as the original three.

Since you're probably too young to be aware, Bob Arum went public in Ring Magazine and admitted he'd been bribing the WBA for years, buying rankings and titles. He outed, by name, the person he paid all of the bribe money to. Arum did this because he was mad that Don King started paying bigger bribes and Arum didn't have a monopoly on WBA titles anymore.

The disgraced leader of the WBA bribery ring, who had been publicly outed by Arum, was banished by the WBA forever.

That man, Pepe Cordero, created the WBO. So the WBO was literally founded by the man Arum exposed for being the leader of the WBA's bribery operation.

Lomachenko has the Super title. The World title is vacant. Easter would be fighting for the World title, not the interim title.

You have no evidence bribery is involved. The WBA has Super titles and World titles. It's been this way for almost 20 years. If Haymon's fighters weren't fighting for the vacant World title, somebody else's fighters would be. Matchroom, Golden Boy and plenty of others have had WBA World champions in divisions that have Super champions. Nothing unique to Haymon.
