When there were rumblings last year of Joshua vs Wilder possibly being made I didn't fall for it. That fight is going to be marinated but hopefully it's not burnt by the time it happens. I knew it was too soon to get excited over it. But the stars are aligning for mega fights between Joshua, Wilder, and Fury.
Fury's recent deal with ESPN & Top Rank means he's coming to the states and will receive further exposure in the country where boxing's biggest fights find their home. The mecca of boxing itself is in Las Vegas. Fury's stock rose tremendously from his heroic performance against Wilder last December. Aligning himself with ESPN means his fan base will only grow and he'll be exposed to a wider audience. This is good news for him because it helps to elevate him as a star.
Joshua is making his US debut in June. He's a major star in the UK, but we all know the US is where the superstars of boxing perform. He too will be exposed to a wider audience and his fame and stature will only grow.
Wilder is already a US fighter and has also seen his name grow. What I'm trying to say is that after a couple fights under their belt here in the US, the market will be ripe for mega fights between these three fighters. Any combination will be a big deal because the audience will have grown and demand will be ripe for the picking. Thoughts? Again, I just hope it's not too late by the time it happens. But I do think these fighters competing in the States will only elevate these fights.
