I think theres a lot of Larry worlds on here. But yea the temple shot I caught and he pauses then goes backwards where he was going down anyway because he wasn't defending himself , injury or not.

How do amateur records factor in with a professional record ? The announcers never bring up amateur fights. They're never mentioned in the promotion of fights.

Never in the Olympics because they had Solis back then. Still he has a nice amateur career. I don't understand why it is so important nowadays to have a great amateur career. Yes I know that the fundamentals need to be learned before you jump to the pro ranks. But if you linger too much there, you will lose your prime and not get pay. Most Cubans make the jump to late because politics, some "fans" hold that against the athlete. They forget that 99% of the time, they win their first Gold medal when they are teenagers. There's not an athlete in World that have to do what Cubans does in order to compete in professional sports. And they can't come back to Cuba once they defect. They don't speak the language and most of them felt prey to unscrupulous "promoters". It is very lonely for a Cuban defector and hard.

Solis was a better amateur and Ortiz turned out to be the better pro. Nothing crazy about it, David Haye also turned out to be a better pro than Solis.

Ortiz didn't even fill out until the pros, no different than when Wilder was losing to nobodies and Solis got fat once he started living the American lifestyle.

Solis crumbled to the mat near the end of the first round of his fight yesterday with Vitali Klitschko, and had serious trouble getting back to his feet, forcing the referee to call off the fight.

[A] diagnosis at Cologne's University Hospital revealed Solis tore his cruciate ligament and damaged cartilage in the fall, while further tests on Sunday will reveal whether he needs surgery.

"I do not think there will be any other outcome than Solis will have to take a long break to recover," said his promoter Ahmet Oener after the WBC's top-ranked challenger limped out of hospital on crutches.

According to German daily Die Welt, Solis had already had problems in his right knee.

Solis (17-1, 12 KO) was doing as well as anyone has against Vitali Klitschko since Klitschko's 2008 comeback after four years out of the sport. What happened was unfortunate to say the least. It robbed folks of what just might have developed into a truly interesting heavyweight fight for once.

In The Telegraph, Klitschko rival David Haye was quick to blame Solis' poor conditioning:

"Now that's why you shouldn't have excess body fat. A lean 30 year-old, healthy athlete shouldn't have joints or ligament popping for no reason," said Haye. "Solis knew how to beat Vit, but years of obesity stopped him being able to execute. He will unfortunately go down as yet another fat bum."
I didn't even have to read a word of that nonsense.

Everyone here has eyes. If you want the factual result of the fight, just go watch Vitali hit him on the top of the temple, him have a delayed reaction and then his legs completely go limp resulting in a KD for which he couldn't get up and continue. Hence, why it's an official TKO.

Also, the wiki of the actual fight

                  reads:

Vitali Klitschko defeated Odlanier Solis in the first round. Solis went down near the end of the opening round, getting hit by a right hook to the temple. He immediately began grabbing his right knee upon attempting to get to his feet. He was able to make it to his feet. At that, the referee waved an end to the bout.

                  Stop attempting to rewrite history.

The end, mr. white fighter hater. Don't think everyone here doesn't CLEARLY SEE THAT.

Like his knee injury made it so that he couldn't get either of his feet under himself. What a load of sh@t off this guy. He just can't stand white fighters. Every single debate with him starts and ends with how trash white fighters are. It's pathetic.

All this other BS aside. Vitali koed Solis, he caught him with a looping right hand on the temple and down he went. I dont doubt he blew a knee out but if you notice his other leg wasnt working either.
