Is Manny Steward full of himself?

I'm young and have been watching boxing for about 4 years now so I don't really know manny from back in the day. but on hbo as a commentator and in interviews he always seems so full of himself and makes these predictions that are always wrong then switches them during a fight. I like his insight during fights because of his status as a legendary trainer, but anyone else not like him?

when you train as many champions as he has you have the right to be confident of your observations and criticism

The way I see it ALL commentators are biased, they come into a fight with opinions of the fighters, they can't just comment on what they see, they do it from their own perspective, some of the things he says may not make sense, but as a commentator he's good. Merchant bothers me the most, I now it wrong to say, but the guys almost senile, he just makes remarks that are behind everybody else, I don't know maybe it just me. IMHO tho my favorite commentator has been Foreman, he gives a boxers perspective of what he sees.

Foreman is the worst commentator of them all.

I lost all respect for Foreman as a commentator during the Hopkins-Trinidad fight. I swear to god, Tito's **** was so far up Foreman's ass it was disturbing. Even Lampley and Merchant were getting annoyed at George, and finally Merchant snapped and said, "George, why don't you just give Benard his credit"

Because while Hopkins was landing 3-4 punch combos flush on Tito's chin, Foreman would scream "TRINIDAD IS JUST SETTING UP A TRAP YOU SEE... HOPKINS IS GETTING TIRED!!"

And don't even get me started about Foreman's commentary on the Mayweather-Corrales fight.

I respect Foreman as a boxer and a man, and even an endorser (hell I even own one of his grills), but as a commentator -- no way. I think RJJ and Lewis is better.

I know what you mean. As a Corrales fan, even I was like shut up, man, Mayweather isn't going to get tired and Corrales isn't going to catch him. Foreman just likes punchers, and that's fine considering he was a puncher himself.

I dont think Lewis is bad, but hes not good.
I think Roy is spot on in most of his commentary.
He analyzes fights and fighters very well.
The only problem, he talks too fast and its hard to understand what he is saying sometimes.
