Comments Thread For: DeGale-Eubank: Neither Admits To Requesting Groves' Removal

GEORGE GROVES has been removed from ITV's panel for Saturday's fight between James DeGale and Chris Eubank Jnr. The former WBA super-middleweight champion was due to be a pundit on the channel for the all-British battle at the O2. But it is understood Groves has been taken off at the request of one of the fighter's involved.

I think it was likely team DeGale as they have a genuine hatred of Groves. However, if it was team Eubank, this is a fantastic mind game as the vast majority of people will assume it was DeGale.

If it wasn't DeGale or Eubank it must of been Froch.

I STRONGLY suspect the Eubanks, Snr was trying to dictate to SKY the commentary team on a previous fight.

Not sure exactly which fight but i believe he was insisting that Barry McGuigan commented on one of Junior's fights because McGuigan was 'Eubank friendly'.

That was during negotiations for the Golovkin fight.

It doesn't necessarily mean it was Sr this time. Although if it is, it's a great mind game

I heard he's still on the broadcast anyway.

I reckon it was George Groves requesting it just to mess with them all or maybe a ploy by JD to force GG out of retirement by insulting him
