        He was hyped up into the bogeyman and with his fights falling through people thought fighters were scared of him. It's just not true he keeps making up excuses and ruining these fights. I believed Beterbiev at one point too. I think your assessment is spot on. I would go a little further though. I think he's waiting to make his name on a shop worn Kovalev and avoiding any threats in the process. He and his promoter know that if he beats someone good like Kovalev late in their career he could say that those fights didn't get made because people avoided him. Then he can fights some more cans and ride that wave into retirement.

          Yep. A 'name' was what I meant as a cash out fight.... not necessarily someone good.
