Comments Thread For: Sergey Kovalev Ready To Face Artur Beterbiev in May

Earlier this month, IBF light heavyweight champion Artur Beterbiev (13-0, 13 KOs) expressed his interest in a potential unification with Sergey Kovalev, who recently reclaimed the WBO world title with a dominant twelve round unanimous decision over Eleider Alvarez. Kovalev (33-3-1, 28 KOs), who last August was knocked out by Alvarez in seven rounds, is now back in the mix with the very best at 175.

beterbiev to me is an hypejob, even if he does beat kovalev it doesn't say much because of the time he beat kovalev (at the back-end of his career) but I'm picking kovalev to ud him in a close fight, could potentially be a war due to their rivalry back in the amateur days, make it happen Bob!

I might not like his character but Kovalev is a throwback: anyone, anytime, any place!

I hope this fight gets made, there's bound to be fireworks. I'd back Beterbiev to win but it's an open contest.

Kovalev should win if the same Kovalev who fought Alvarez for the rematch; shows up in this fight vs Artur.

Fan of both but this is the fight which announces Beterbiev on the elite stage. He will rise to the occasion and ko kovalev

Such a great match up! IDK who to pick. Kov has the much deeper resume but beterbiev less wear and tear and slightly younger

Kovalev should win comfortably. Betterbiev don't fight often and has shown he really isn't what some thought he was. Could be exciting though...
