Leo Santa Cruz boring?

I wouldn't call him boring, but he needs to be in there with opponents who can press him harder. Russell Jr., Rigo, etc. Not his fault since the top fighters in his division aren't in any big hurry to fight him or anyone else for that matter. I also feel that his humble nice guy image probably lends to the "boring" label, but he's a good fighter who throws a lot of punches, doesn't run, and doesn't clinch. He just doesn't have that one punch power or blazing speed that typically makes a fighter more fan-friendly.Comment

He's a nice guy and comes across well but is a largely uninteresting fighter these days. I think at 126 he's gotten more boring. I was very impressed seeing him up close when he beat Terrazas the night Mares got KO'd by Gonzalez. He looked like a terror that night.
The Frampton fights were good and meaningful but it just seems he's so insistent on endless meaningless tune-ups. He's too often tuning up for tune-ups and the fights and monotonous and uninteresting because the competition is so bad, he does the same things over and over and doesn't possess power at 126 and his style whilst skilled isn't pretty.
I hope he fights Russell next otherwise it may not be worth watching. I think that's an interesting fight and perhaps a 50/50.Comment

He's one of those guys that is fun to watch when he's in with another elite guy. He's boring when he's fighting clearly lesser opposition because he doesn't have the power to put a lot of guys away, so it becomes a fight where Leo is throwing 100 punches a round and the other dude is completely lostComment
