Fury knows as the fight went on Wilder was starting to get his timing down on Fury. And that it's risky fighting Wilder again. Not saying Wilder would win the rematch but it's very possible. He was smart to take the money from a personal standpoint but it sucks for the fans who just want to see a good fight. These different associations hurt boxing sometimes.

You get stars to break through (Spence, Mikey, Wilder, Plant/Benevidez, Charlo, Davis, etc) and Haymon could literally be sitting on a billion dollars over 4 years.
There's almost literally no reason why Haymon should advice Wilder to give Bob Arum control of an event on behalf of Tyson Fury, the lineal champ but a current non-beltholder, who already got a shot and came up short. And you know that Arum is going to be foolish enough to ask for options on Wilder, too.
Tyson Fury just got $20m a fight for the next 5 fights; let's see how things look when Crawford-Khan flops, Fury fights some no-name middling WBO challenger, Wilder and Joshua both move on from Fury, Fury fights another stumblebum for another $20m, and the ESPN folks weigh what Top Rank has delivered for their money against what UFC has delivered for their money.

Between Showtime/CBS and FOX/FS1, Haymon just signed a deal that would get him half a billion dollars over the next 4 years, plus the proceeds from the PPVs (over the next 4 years, with the way things are moving, you're easily talking about 15-20 events; each breaks even, and that's another $150m-$200m at least).

more wishful thinking from you where everything turns out roses for pbc and the absolute worse case scenario happens to their competitors. none of those guys will be major stars LOL at plant mikey is a free agent who will leave after being sacrificed. what you need to worry about is not letting wilder jump ship. wilder has to be sitting there dumbfounded wondering how in the hell did fury who had not fought in years got 20 million a fight deal yet he's been fighting whole the time has a belt and his biggest payday is 7 mil. wilder is older and time is ticking. arum might end up signing wilder too LMAO!
And then you need someone to break through.
If Errol Spence Jr follows through his path, imo anyway (Mikey in March, Porter/Ugas unification in August, Thurman-Pacquiao winner in Spring 2020, Danny Garcia in Summer 2020), ESJ is a 750k+ PPV buys fighter through the rest of his run.
Wilder keeps winning in style, even if Joshua and Fury duck him, and his profile keeps growing, especially as the title defenses records come into play.
Mikey Garcia, if he holds his own against Spence, heads back to 135 to fight Commey, maybe fights Lomachenko, but then heads to 140lbs to build to that fight with Regis Prograis (the tats are a bit much, but even he has a chance to break through too).
Caleb Plant has a great story, has real skills, and is a white boy from Tennessee who can really fight; build him versus Benevidez, and you've got two TV draws at 168lbs and a possible star for one of them.
Freedom is a beautiful thing; if Wilder wants to give that up, so be it (Eleider Alvarez just saw his longterm big money deal vanish after a single fight, and it's likely the same for Fury were Wilder to flatten him in the first fight of this deal, lol)Comment

And still PBF was built by arum.
Manny fighting top welters is like floyd fighting top middleweights...which never happened...
Mikey better resume than Loma, no way, this is a no brainer in boxing.
Russel, Walters, Linares are arguably better than any Mikey win, and this 12 fights.
What is Mikey best win? Broner? Bunny?
Then Errol, Shawn better resume than bud, you're just smocking crack man.
Are you paid by pbc bro?Comment

Arum tried to make Mikey vs Gamboa. Mikey ducked and ran to Al. Arum signed Loma, Loma is fighting everyone. Arum signed Pacquiao, he fought everyone. Cotto, Marquez both fought top guys with Arum. The closest Floyd ever came to fighting prime A-level opposition was with Arum.
So just because Crawford's run has ******, whether to protect him until he got to big $ fights at WW or because they don't trust his chin or just because of politics, who knows which reason is the real one, don't group everyone else in with him. TR generally takes a lot more matchmaking risks than PBC does. Just look at Beltran-Pedraza for one, Jose Ramirez almost losing his last fight vs an undefeated slick southpaw opponent, and so on. Loma getting dropped by Linares. You would never see a PBC superstar put in with a non-PBC fighter like Linares the first fight a division above without any sort of catchweight or messing up what gloves Linares could wear or **** like that. Loma just went right up and fought him on an even playing field at 135. That just never happens with PBC fighters vs a GBP or TR fighter. So you can't compare Arum and PBC. Arum wants to make Loma vs Tank or Mikey, it's PBC that wont entertain EITHER of the big fights to be made at EITHER 130 OR 135, just like they wouldnt entertain LSC vs Loma at 126 after Loma beat the other best guy at 126 GRJ. It's been this way forever with PBC so screw PBC and stop defending them or grouping Top Rank in with them when I just explained Top Rank actually is willing to make those fights, it's PBC that refuses to make them and even admits openly they want no part.Comment

a lot of us know this. that ibf wbc wba poster you have in your sig is one of them as I'm sure you know he admitted to getting paid to post here. the poster's username is a smokescreen though he really works for pbc/showtime and not the alphabet orgs and is always spinning pro pbc/showtime Bullshieeet. scipio2009 is another one who is a paid poster he or she posts on other boxing sites using the same username always posting pro pbc/showtime crap. there's plenty more out there. cbs who owns showtime and who of course do business with pbc own this website.Comment
